I am currently sifting through names and names of rheumatologists in the area, and I need to find one who is experienced with the treatment/diagnosis of fibromyalgia. If anyone has any experience with doctors in the Maryland area and would be willing to recommend one, I would much appreciate it.

If you live the Maryland suburbs outside of the Washington DC area I highly recommend that you get a copy of the yearly issue of the Washingtonian Magazine that lists "Top Doctors". I have had tremendous success in finding several excellent doctors (specialists) from this source for myself and family in the Northern Va area. You can find out how to order the most recent "Top Doctor" issue by going to their Web site: Washingtonian.com Several months ago I took my daughter to an otologist (Ear/Nose/Throat doctor that specializes in inner ear disorders) from this "Top Doctor" list. He diagnosed my 19 year old daughter with having Autoimmune Inner Ear Disorder (AIED). Several other doctors had misdiagnosed her inner ear problems for over two years. This doctor thinks my daughter's autoimmune inner ear problem may have Lupus as the underlying cause, which may not surface for several years down the road. We may eventually have to consult with a rheumatologist if that is the case and I will definitely use this excellent source. Good luck in your search!

Thank you so much! I have actually never heard of this magazine before, and I'm definitely going to order the latest issue.

I feel so bad for your daughter! I'm going into the doctor Monday the 5th to have a full blood panel done to test for Lupus. I hope everything works out for her.

Thanks again for the tip!
