I need to talk to anyone // everyone that has ever had this surgery and had complications afterwards. Specifically, with their legs. I had surgery in Jan. 07 and started having problems with my legs 3 months after surgery. I have tingling, numbing, burning, weakness. I have had so many doctors tell me that they have NO idea what is wrong with me. all MRI's, CT scans, Exrays show that my surgery was a success and no problems. I am taking so many different meds I can't think straight anymore. I am begging anyone that has had problems with their lumbar surgery to PLEASE contact right away.
Thanks in advance
Theresa

Hun,
I haven't had a lumbar Discectomy, but I've had 1 360/3 level spinal fusion, plus 5 Laminectomies. And after my fusion I had the same symptoms that you are having on your legs... I went to see a Neurologist after I fired my original surgeon, because he kept on dismissing my concerns, and guess what???? He found the cause of my issues!

I was caused by nerve impingement. You are describing exactly what I had..... so if these Doctor's that you have now are not giving you any answers, go to a Neurosurgeon and see if he cand figure this one out. I am not a betting person, but I bet that all of this symptoms have to do with nerve impigement. Take care and don't give up!

I am a survivor of 5 spinal surgeries. 1 360/3level L2 through L5 fusion. 5 Laminectomies, the most recent one was last week, I had a spinal cord stimulator installed in June of 08 that has helped me with my nerve pain, but I am in mechanical pain 24/7-365!
I have a wonderful PM Doc and I used to be a social worker.... I am now on social security disability and living my days in pain....
