My right kneecap started hurting around 4 months ago when I was jogging. I was advised to get some rest by this doctor and it didn’t really help me. I was also advised by another doctor that I have tendonitis and can be cured by some exercises. Again, no luck. Now, the pain seems to be spreading over to my legs. I’m only 23 and in good health. Am really lost at this point. I’m going to see another doctor and wish me luck. Any idea that you can share on what you think this might be? I can use them to ask a doctor.
I understand how frustrating that could be. You do need to see another doctor for further help. What are you taking for the pain? For my left knee pain (rheumatoid arthritis), I take tramadol. Helps me cut the edge of pain. You might want to ask the doctor about that too in case you’re not prescribed to it yet.
Welcome to ChronicPainConnection! Most of us can relate to the frustration of trying to find a doctor who can diagnose and treat our chronic pain condition.
If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest you try seeing an orthopaedic specialist. They specialize in the musculoskeletal system, which would include the knee. Also, we have a Symptom Checker that may help you narrow down some possibilities of what might be causing your knee pain so you'll have some things to ask the doctor about. Here's a link: Symptom Checker
Good luck with your appointment. I hope you'll let us know how it goes.
