I've had an intrtheacal pain pump for about a month and the pain control is very good, I'm off all my oral meds, I took 200 mg of oxycontin before, but this stuff makes me sleepy, once my physican changed me from oxy to morphine tablets and the same thing happened, a few days later he put me back on oxy and the sleepyness went away. my question is do they make liquid oxycontin and could I get it put in my pump when my refill time comes up. My pump delivers4.4 mg/per day of bupivicaine and 82 mg/day of clonidine. and the dilaudad, can I get liquid oxycontin to replace the dilaudad?
Hi Ted, I know they make a liquid oxycodone, but I don't know whether it can be used in a pain pump. We have a thread here in the forum where all pain pump related questions are answered by a gentleman who has lots of experience with them. It really is the very best place to get answers to questions about pain pumps. The thread is under "General Discussion" and is entitled “Willing to share experience with intrathecal morphine pump implant.” It was started and is maintained by Bob Englebardt. I'd suggest you ask your question there. It's a pretty long thread, but rest assured your post will be read and answered. You may find an answer to your question already there, but if not, just click on the last page and post your question.
