I recently got a new insurance company that at first was fine and now they are completely screwing me over! They are basically refusing to cover any of my doctors appointments and any of my medication. For instance I have to go pick up my prescription of hydrocodone tonight and I have to pay completely out of pocket, 163.00. Being nineteen and on disability this is completely impossible for me. So the alternative is being in pain or being in debt. Is there anyone out there that can relate to this?
Thanks,
Amanda

Yes, the same thing has happened to me...my new insurance says my Chronic Pain Mngmt is a pre-existing condition, and not only do I have to pay out of pocket for the visits, but for the drug tests, the meds, which, like you said, is toooooo much...I pay 150-170 for my oxycodone each month....I hate that when I pick up my other scripts, they always say, "The insurance won't cover that one"(Percs)....I'm in a bad shape financially as well.

I'm on disability and have a medicare advantage plan. Starting last month I reached the max of what they would pay until I reach the next level. So for three months I have to pay full price for my meds. I have to pay $623.47 just for my pain meds. I'm on oxycontin and oxycodone for breakthru pain. Believe me I've tried all of the cheaper and weaker meds. I've been taking these for ten years now. Not much money for food.
