Chronic Pain

since i have a constant prescription to a narcotic i am forced to random drug testing to assure i am not abusing the medication. i was fine with that, until i got my first drug test (urine sample) and soon after got the bill for it... before my insurance stepped in it was almost $2000... after the insurance paid their part it was $1000... my colonoscopy didn't even cost me that much. i seriously had a panic attack when i saw that bill. i struggle to pay the medical bills i have but to throw that on top of it - i feel stuck and don't know what to do. how could it cost THAT much for a drug test!!!!!???? and how do they expect someone to pay that? its random testing so i could get it out of nowhere. they could have at least warned me of the cost. im still in shock over the bill... and im stressing hard.... which is making everything that much worse. i dont know what to do because i can not afford to pay this bill... and i can't afford to have to pay it again.

You are being ripped off. My boyfriend has to have a urine drug test every time he has a doctor's appointment. We just looked at his last bill and there is no extra charge for the urine test. I don't understand how they can get away with what they are doing. I would call them. Maybe it is a mistake. You can buy drug kits at the store for $40.00. So something is really wrong here. Maybe the person doing the billing made a mistake. There is no way it would cost that much. Don't let them get away with this. Scooter

I agree with Scooter. That just doesn't sound right. It looks like they forgot to put in a decimal point! You definitely need to question that bill. You have a right to have more details about what you are being charged for.
