Cliff notes-Mucho surgeries (Lumbar Lami L5-S1, Tonsilectomy-a few years ago=HELL, Buccal mucosa Graft Urethroplasty, several urethral dilations-one botched and a "false passage" formed, and mucho tooth canal work all on my left side, which is where my TMJ is....I've cracked a tooth with the pressure that I grind with...ad nauseaum ...needless to say, I see a Pain specialist and within the last 9 months, I've gotten several new seasonal jobs, and each one has its physical demands which exacerbates my symptoms, which causes me to grind....circle complete, right? NO. Throw 2 urethral surgeries within one month into the mix, both with indwelling cath for extra added discomfort...and now I have to self cath for a good year or so, which causes me to wind up REAL tight in my pelvic area, which inflames my SI joint and coccyx and thus, the next pain loop is complete...with all this said, I have been telling my Uro's that I've been dipping into my pain meds because they wouldn't Rx anything for the INTENSE pain that I was experiencing in my perineum and hip area=turned out to be another urethral stricture post Buccal surgery, but they Tx with Cipro=thought it was the prostate...all the while, I was in severe unrelenting pain, so i dipped for a good time....Upon having the first surgery(I am COMPLETELY forthright with my Oro's about what i take daily), I was given Meprigan, then the doc said "NO MORE...YOU HAVE ALL THAT OTHER STUFF" ?????? Well, after my second surgery, my Uro told me post op, NO NARCS FOR YOU...YOU STILL HAVE WHAT DR. So and SO gave you...."???? My jaw dropped, "Are you serious, do you understand that THAT Rx is for something chronic and that that THIS post surgical pain is ACUTE"....nothing....so I went in and saw my Pain spec. early with my indwelling and in excruciating pain and said that I was sorry that I was out so soon, that I couldn't help it because NOONE will RX me anything for ANYTHING legit/acute B/c I'm honest and tell them what i take, so I am seriously undermedicated and back to square one...Having chronic back pain is enough, throw some penile surguries and daily self cath in and there is a recipe for pain...I feel like a crumb Tx my pain as I NEED to, but I just need to vent, I guess.....My Psych, as soon as I told him about the cathing, upped my Xanax dosage...eeek.
OMG! I feel so bad for you sweetie! It sucks when you do and say everything you are supposed to and the docs treat you like you are some sort of freak dope fiend. My doctor is wanting to run more tests on me to decide if she wants to start pain management or futz around awhile longer with me and my 4 different headaches that blind me and make me want to suicide.
