I wouldn't take the Lortab for breakthrough pain without asking your doctor first. Combining opioid medications can be dangerous, especially if you haven't yet developed enough of an opioid tolerance. Doing so increases your risk of respiratory depression, which is what happens in accidental overdoses – you go to sleep and stop breathing. So please check with your doctor first.
