We are moving to the DFW area. My husband had lumbar fusion last Oct. and still has nerve pain in his leg and foot. He's had problems getting doctors to prescribe adequate meds to allow him to function. Hydrocodone is the only thing that seems to consistently work. (Lyrica knocks him out) Can anyone recommend a doctor in this area that is understanding of someone who needs meds to manage the pain so he can work and won't treat him like an addict?

You're very fortunate to be going to the DFW area. Dr. John Claude Krusz of Anodyne Headache and PainCare in Dallas is probably the best, most caring and understanding pain specialist I've ever known. People travel across the country to see him.

You can check out his Web site to learn more about his practice: Anodyne Headache and PainCare

Dr. Krusz is also a medical advisor for our ChronicPainConnection site and answers questions for our Ask the Expert feature.

I hope this helps and your husband is able to find the pain care help he needs.

Karen
