Hi my name is Wendy and I am 43 years old and live in NJ. I suffer from severe Fibromyalgia and depression/anxiety. I used to work as a legal sec. in a big insurance defense firm in Northern NJ. I am now on SSD since 2005.

I am married and have 2 cats. My husband and I have a rocky marriage before Fibro came along and it is worse now. I go to a chiropractor once a week and my psychologist once a week. I am on pain meds but they do not always help me.

I am looking forward to chatting with people and learning more about Fibro and what other people are doing to help ease pain, etc.

Wendy

Hello Wendy - sorry you are in such emotional and physical pain ..

There is new research being done , and new med called Lyrica ?

Being a fellow fibro , chronic pain person, it is always nice to speak with others that understand .. a little more info , such as treatments you are on, meds .. etc .. help when discussing this issue ..

The more specific , the more resources may be available .. sorry you have waited so long for a response .. but I will try to lend support , you can view my sharepost here on the Chronic Pain site .. or the MS site . also here at health central ..

Hope you get this, and hope you respond .. agserra

Hello and welcome to the club... club pain?

Anyway, Lyrica would be a good one to try. I had a rare adverse reaction to it, but it was doing me some good.

Hello and welcome Myth , I like your icon , life can feel this way somedays ..

I responded about 2 months too late myself .. and as you see the original post was in January ..

So , I thought I would respond a.s.a.p. , as now I have my notifications set up ..

If you are a fellow FMS or chronic painer , come talk on any number of issues on any one of these as often as you like ..

I was interested in Lyrica , and am a wait and see kinda person .. so many times I was given great meds that worked for me, Bextra, being the one .. and have it yanked cause of side effects or possible side effects ..

I believe people should have that say, not the FDA , people should be required a FUL physical, and bllod workup , and as you are probably used to , a regular blood work up every three months ..

If I am having no adverse effects , then I should be allowed to continue use .. if a person fials his/her testings , the absolutly stop taking the meds ..

I feel like there are these lawyers , just hovering over the FDA , like vultures , who make more out of a molehill .. too many notices on TV about if you or any one you know .. by attorneys .. this is one poihibitor too the FDA approving a med .. and they react too quickly to the handful that do suffer side effects ..

My opinion only , and am not directing it at all to anyone in particular , but it is how I feel after all these years of living with chronic pain, FMS and MS ...

The warnings are there, how much clearer do the manufacturers have to be , does it make them liable ? does it make the doctors liable ? to a degree, we are the patients and if misuse treatment, some or the bulk of the fault lies with us .. as we must speak to the doctors and tell them , read the bleepin paperwork , it isn't that difficult ..

I am glad you were able to at least try the Lyrica, and find you did have adverse effects , before and hope you have stopped before it causes damage ..as too many people are just looking to get snatched up by the vultures that circle around the FDA ...

Not that there isn't much needed overhaul to that system , but no, we need more technological warfare .. yu, that's where the dollars go ... cyprain 1 or Adrian
