I have this problem with all the others, I will find time to list one day. This one is getting to me big time. I walk out almost every day about 1 /2 hour now I am back walking after knee pain. My face gets so red and pulsing. It is now one hr since I came home and my face is still burning. It get worst in this cold but it only the beginning of the cold season. Today it was less than 40 F. I tried over the years to pat my face with think cream and others to no avail. If one of you have some suggestion ,please pass them.
An other problem with walking is sweating. I discovered only this season that if I place a towel in my back it's not too bad I don't freeze up my back. Sweating is one of my major prob. I sweat taking a shower....I sweat thinking about about sweating. It is the trunk, face leg type, My house is cold all the time. Before having thyroid problems I was hypo and always cold now, I am controlled but sweat, I saw many drs about that some took me off my pain medication but that started before I had meds for pain. I know that pain meds make some people sweat. I also have constant tinitus 24/7 crickets in my ears AGGGGGGGGGggggggggg!! I had MRI and it's normal, it came with a migraine and stayed with me since 4 years now.

Hello dear!
Have you thought about or checked into hormonal problems for your sweating?
I've never been one to sweat much and within the past year, I thought I was beginning menopause and so did my PC, but I also recently read an article that said many pain medications will cause problems with our hormones and give us menopause type symptoms. I'm personally thinking my issues with hot flashes and horrible sweat attacks is a combination of meds and my age. (45)
As for your face issue in the cold weather, I think I would buy myself one of those UnderArmor head coverings, that also covers your face/cheek area. My son and husband use their's in cold weather and they really help. The material is very lite weight,so it's not like having a scarf around your face either. They are made for atheletes, runners, etc. that work out in the weather.
Go to Eastbay.com and do a search on ColdGear or Under Armour. Under armour is a very lite weight shirts/pants,hoods, etc that wick the water away from your body and the hoods cover your head and face in a very lite wht material.
The hood would protect your face from the elements and hopefully help your red cheeks.

Good Luck
Betty

TY for your reply. I am passed that dreading time call what I saw once men-o-pause but I know some women will sweat for the rest of their life. Isn't that great, dripping all the way home.
Before thyroid surgery for a non malignant tumor I never sweat at all I could do so much more then ( yonger and not in chronic pain then) I started this about the time of the discovery of the thy nodule, my numbers for TSH were bordeline high now the "normal" is a lot lower. I can remember the day it started
As for the redness in my face that too started the same day. Now I can't even take a drop of wine or alcohol it gets right to my ears and ny face.
I am still looking for the miracle cure.
