I suppose it depends on what's really wrong with your ear. If they're not blocked by wax- then no, it won't help. The underlying issue could be deeper in, such as fluid behind the ear drum or Eustachian tube issues. Definitely see an ENT before trying anything.
I had a myringotomy and was put on ear drops- nothing helped with the pain. Although, since I have no pressure build up, because I have a hole in my ear drum, I no experience the popping.
Are your ear issues truly caused by ear problems, or TMJ? This is the boat I'm in right now. I'm convinced that all of my symptoms are completely ear related because they're so ear centered. But the ENT is hypothesizing TMJ!
