I want to thank Stacy for helping me today. I has vertical mandibular osteotomy of left and right TM joints on 2-7-07 and thought by now I would feel some relief. I am also thankful for this website (formerly TMJFriends), and knowing that I am not alone. I am having intense pain and have paid a visit to our local ER for some "relief", but the drugs they gave me just eased my anxiety attack. I hope I never have to go through as many surgeries as Stacy has - this one is enough. The wires get loosened tomorrow and I hope that I will feel somewhat better. If anyone has any suggestions about post-op relief, help with depression, or just anything to make me laugh, it would be greatly appreciated.

Jules_

I just wanted to stop by and give you a quick hello and welcome to the board. I am so sorry that you are going through all of this. Hopefully when the arch bars are removed, you will start to feel some relief. Are you seeing a pain specialist?

Please keep us posted on how things are going………

Hi Jules,

Just wanted to welcome you to the board. Sorry that you are having so much trouble right now. Frowner I haven't had any surgery for my TMJ so sadly I do not have any advice for post-op pain. Did your doctor give you anything for it? Perhaps seeing a pain specialist would be a good idea or atleast call your surgeon and tell him/her what's going on.

We're all here for you!

Hugs,

Bekah Smiler

Hi there Jules,
I just wanted to say that I hope you continue to improve day after day. I know the pain and depression can be very hard to fight against sometimes, but try to keep your mind occupied so that you don't dwell on it. Also, as a great friend keeps telling me...."Just Breathe". Just take it day by day or even minute by minute if you have to. Just hang in there, we're here for you.
In My Prayers,

Chrissy
