How are you all today.. This board is way too quiet compared to the old one... So lets try a 'how is your day'...
I had a very rough day last night... I've had some bad PMDD headaches lately mixed w/ TMJ headaches... So I've been curled in a ball in a very dark room as of late. I took a lunesta to try and sleep last night and it took a very long time for it to kick in. Today my entire right side is on fire and my PMDD breakthru symptoms are raging... I'm not going to be good to be around people today ... I have to start packing and gearing up for my trip to Shanghai next week, so I hope this all evens out soon.
I go for my acupunctue Thur, so I hope that helps w/ the TMJ... My PMDD is another story
I'm sorry you're having such a hard night... I hope it gets better soon for you. I know those nights are rough!! I'm kind of in the same boat... I was in tears from pain last night..my whole right side has locked up pretty much and picking up the baby all the time isn't helping. I hate this pain... ugh. Lots of stress coming up and just a very busy few weeks so I think my brain and body are just spinning right now.
Hopefully some others are doing better than we are!! LOL.
I'm thinking of trying to become one of those people that never sleep. I slept on my side last night and somehow managed to pull a muscle or something across my chest. I noticed that at around 6 this morning, it's just now starting to calm down.
So sleeping on my stomach is out, can't sleep on my sides, hate sleeping on my back.. so.. maybe I could try sleeping standing up
Hi everyone, I'm..umm.. well, I don't feel too well today. It'll pass though (I hope!!!!!!!).
Alex, you mentioning not sleeping made me remember something I read on the web. Have you ever heard of polyphasic sleep? It is where you take naps several times a day instead of sleeping all night. Some people swear by it. I don't know how much research there is on it.. but the basic idea is to teach your body to hit REM stage sleep very quickly (while it normally takes about 90 minutes to reach it in a normal 8 hour night of sleep). This way your body can refresh itself faster. I think this is the idea.
Anyway if it sounds appealing, look it up. It might sound crazy though too. LOL. Anyway, I have the same problems sleeping. I wake up every morning and my back hurts really badly. Ugh. Well, hope you guys are doing well today. Sorry that I am not feeling well, I hate to be a downer. Love, Stacy

You know, I was, and it helped. But the doctor said to stop when I started having balance problems.. but that turned out to be something else. I should have asked about that last time I saw him.
I'll give him a call, good idea

I hope you can get some meds to help.. I for one hate taking them, but there are times when we need them.. I hope you can get some and get some relief !!!
I've missed the "how is your day?" Good to see everyone checking in- it seemed to make me feel closer to everyone. I have been having alot of shortness of breath and fatigue I thought from my neck pulling my ribs out. I also had the botox problem a month ago and bronchitis as a result of my breathing getting weak from the botox. I saw my new MD today and she was awesome. She started me on a new inhaler, did an xray, ordered pulm. function tests, and is sending me back to a specialist whose also a bike rider who I saw 20 years ago (time flies and he's still riding!) I'm also having a sleep study. If things don't show up, she's checking my heart. I felt less hopeless than I did when I got up- hope everyone feels just a little better tonight. We're off to walk at the mall and going to Cape Cod for the weekend after now going away since last summer- Deb
I agree, the 'how was your day' seemed to pull folks together.... Great to see you here again !!
I am glad to see you are getting the attention you so rightfully deserve. Let us know how it goes.
Ahhh the Cape.. What a gorgeous place. My sis in law has a house there that they visit in the summer. It's such a special place. You enjoy yourself.. How is the weather going to be ? My sis is in Boston area and says it's still cold ! Make it stop there !!!
It's cold! We just went to the mall to walk and it was in the 30's. Easter morning was 23 degrees. I walked this afternoon in my down coat and gloves. I am feeling some hope that things are getting the right attention - my last MD signed off on my disability and treated me like this is in my head. Luckily the specialists all knew it wasn't. We sail right across from pocasset on the Cape and Falmouth and can make it to Martha's Vineyard with a good wind in a couple of hours. wood's Hole is pretty scary to go through, the current rushes from the canal towards there and you can really get squeezed if one of the ferries is coming through!- Deb
I hope you all had a nice easter weekend. Ours was busy, but lots of fun. My best girlfriend came home from Toronto and stayed with us for a few days. We along with my hubby and cousin had dinner with my parents on Saturday followed by a night of bar hopping by us young folks. We had a great time!
Pain levels have been surprisingly low the last little while. I am just loving it! Been having some issues with my asthma but not too bad otherwise.
It is soooooooo cold here still and crazy windy today. Poor little Monty was fighting against the wind when I took him for his walk earlier this afternoon.
Hubby and I went to the Stars on Ice skating show in town last night. My uncle is the manager of the auditorium and got us 2nd row seats!!! The show was fantastic. Lots of amazing skaters like Jamie Salle & David Pelletier, Brian Orser, Jeff Buttle (SO CUTE!) and my favourite Kurt Browning. I have been seeing Kurt skate every year since I was a teen. Thanks to my uncle I have even met him a few time and he is such a sweetheart. I took lots of pics, you can check them out here:http://luxuria.smugmug.com/gallery/2696775#142829555
Hugs!

Tami, I am so sorry about your migraines. Is the Acai Berry helping at all? I hope you feel better soon....
Nicole, How are you!!! I am sure you are busier than you ever imagined... I can't wait to hear more about Lucy!
Alex, I have those nights too. Do you have a recliner? I have had problems sleeping on my back since the accident, and I can't sleep on my side at all these days. I have found the recliner to be a huge relief. Feel better soon!
Stacy, I hope things even out soon. Fingers crossed for you!
Deb, sounds like you are feeling a bit better. Glad you were able to enjoy the weekend!
Bekah... you sound great. I am so happy that you are starting to get control over your condition!!!!
Me? I am pretty good. I don't feel great, but a hell of a lot better than I did before the surgery. Life without my right TMJ is a bit difficult. Food is very boring, and talking for an extended period of time hurts... but having the materials out... WOW, what a difference.
Hope everyone is having a great week. Look forward to hearing from everyone soon!!!
