Good Morning/Afternoon:

All: it was a long story (the one that involved the the Norwegian site) and the one person who led the charge used a combination POSTING/EMAIL approach (sound familiar?). Initially, the person was friendly but the dark side of their personality came out in their emails to me.

Adrian: I would never divulge information, such things as what my salary was on a shared post to strangers BUT the person was still friendly to me at that point and the last thing that I expected was a DARK side to appear of that person via emails.

All: I am now more wary than ever of using email in combination with POSTing.

All: I don't believe that it's because I'm American (that this happened). The person in question used to be a skier in Norway prior to a spinal injury ... I think that she is just envious of everyone else who can still get around (regardless of whether or not they're in pain or not). I was just an easy target.

Chuck: the people of the UK are still the best friends that we have in this shrinking world. I'm not a world traveler BUT when I was in the UK, it felt more like I visiting just another one of our 50 states, rather than a foreign county ... can't wait to be living there BUT Aud and I had the first of (who knows how many?) couples sessions ... and, I threw my UK hat into the ring ... Audrey insisted that she wants me to stay and work things out ... I guess that time will tell. However, I still want to go back to the UK, one way or another. If Aud and I make it to a 25th wedding anniversary, I'd like to rent an car (maybe a mini-
Cooper convertible) and drive up to the Scottish Highlands [while staying at Bred and Breakfast places (B & B's) along the way].

All: I'm gonna have to buy "Dragon Speak" since my fingers are hurtin' bad.

Afternoon Greetings All,
We have sunshine here in southern Ky hopefully the temp
will climb above freezing and I'll get out for a stroll in the
sun.
Then I'm gonna cook a pot roast for dinner today, easy is good.
Throw the stuff in and let it cook.
Mark, I hope you and Audrey can work together and get to a good
place for both of you.
Adrian & Betty, This really the only place I post I did some on
the yahoo cp board but, gave that up some time ago. Outside of
family I'm not that good at sharing feelings etc.
I've worked with the public in one form or another since '86 and
anymore I just don't do it that well. My last job as a customer
service rep for the Immigration service we were required to take
100 phone calls a day.
So, I guess I tend to shy away from people in general(I have a low tolerance for bs). But, it's my choice.
So my fellow painiacs I guess I'll be around as long as you'll
have me, I know I look foraward to hearing from you guys every day
and I can say what I need to say without it fitting to someone's
guidelines.
I've ranted long enough, Paula Dean's making deserts on the food channel!!
Be back later
Chuck

Hey Chuck,

I'm glad that you'll stick around for a while ... I plan on doing the same ... just as long as you all can put up with me.

Adrian,

I forgot to answer one of your questions re: the Norwegian site -- i.e.., yes, I've been a member of that site for a long time now and I've made lots of friends (until the run in with the person who I thought was one of those "friends")

All, the loss of Keith Ledger reminds me of the loss of James Dean ... as Billy Joel once said: "only the good die young."

Mark - so true .. but I just can't understand it .. here these young people have all this exciting lives and $$ and are so depressed and sad , they do things they can't take back, which is die ..

I admire people , even if i don't agree with them , like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt , that have realized , when you give back and participate in world issues they thrive and are the better for it ,, rather than all the heartbreak that some put themselves thru and end up worse than us ..

It is sad .. both had the world at their feet .. as for Brandos' kid , he had amazing life, killed sisters abuser, gets off , she kills herself , and now he dies .. what a weird legacy .. and sad testiment to a great actor .. guess we will never knows what is in their minds ...

But i do feel they all were filled with sorrow .. or depression .. they couldn't be "themselves" anymore , if you know what I mean .. i guess that is why Johnny Depp stays abroad , as to not get caught upp in the insanity , for them here in the states ...

today i am in awful shape , couldn't get my "self" to shake this brain fog .. i have a migraine that will not go away .. and it throws off my balance horribly ..

Betty - I just stick to my gated community, which is very tiny and stay within close proximity of my place (w/remote in hand, lol) and it is extremely well lit , so i am aware of what's around , it was just too nice to not go out.

The weather is bouncing between frezzing and now is close to 60 .. that is probably why the migraine .. sounds and lights are making my eyes and head go crazy .. so i am just chillin' here .. but it makes me almost nauseous .. i know once whatever weather system makes it theu it will change , i pray and hope .. my butt, legs and calfs feel weighted down , even though i did my stretching .. well enough belly aching , i am gonna make me some soup and hopefully that will help ..

i will check in later ... and Mark, i learned that some are out for what'cha got .. when they don't get the answer their lookin for they become belingerent .. maybe she thought you would move there and stay with her ?

I have had some who , when i was dumber, see that i have my own place and have pm'd as i will not give out my email , and said straigt out he has nothing and no money in his place and is just looking for a place to crash !

The nerve, i told him lose my info , okay , i carry an armed weapon .. lol ..

you all just make me feel better .. thanks guys and ladies .. smiles all around, on me !!!

Adrian,

I think that you're onto something:

ever since I mentioned moving to a small "flat" in the UK ... my UK friend on the Norwegian site, who had been the victim in an abusive marriage (until her divorce) has stopped emailing me and I'm stuck in a grove as what to do. We corresponded by email twice a day BUT ever since I mentioned my desire to move to London, she stopped writing to me. We used to discuss mountain biking, depression, and a whole lot about life in general. What to do ????? ... still thinking about ... since, it's my decision only, unless she writes!

btw: the Norwegian lady has been married to the same guy for 30-something years ... HOWEVER you made a good connection to the story though (except she's British) and now I've lost a real good friend.

Adrian and Chuck:

I meant to say Heath Ledger, not Keith Ledger, but you both knew who I was talking about and I agree with both of you on everything that was said ... I just watched "Broke Back Mountain" on DVD for the 3rd time ... the SADNESS at the end was heavily amplified by the sudden loss of such a promising young actor (Heath Ledger).

hello all - i jsut came to check in .. i see everyone has taken the day off .. i just got up from a little nap .. ugh .. i was not feeling well at all today ..

Mark - yeah, sometimes things like this happen .. but hey, like you are thinking , just leave it alone .. maybe she'll come around .. emailing sometimes gets "too intimate" and females can become dreamy over things .. but if you say she has been a good e-buddy , i would just wait a while ..

you still continue posting there ? if so, good .. do not let anyone scare you off .. except me, i got a big caliber gun, anyone tries anything "funny" with me and just say " Do you feel lucky punk ?" ... lol ..

well, i am off for an evening walk, it is dank out, but the puppies gotta go .. then i am gonna finish watching the SAG awards .. (i think they need to change that name .. lol)

Chuck & Betty , missed you guys today .. ttfn

nite all .. sleep well and peaceful ...

Hello Pain Friends

I finally got up to move around some. Big storm rolled in last night, pressure dropped by many digits and unfortunately I can feel when that happens long before my husband looks at the weather station. Pain ramped up high, could not hardly move, stand or walk. Dizziness, pain and all the lovely things that go along with that. Unfortunately, pressure is still going down, news says yet another storm rolling in, it's already dumped tons of snow on us and it's supposed to dump even more in the next 24 hours. OH Goody!
Sorry for my very belated checking it, just know that once I turned the machine on, this was the first and quite possibly the only stop I'll make today. Cool

I read through all your wonderful post, I hope you all a better day tomorrow. And I hope that I will even out here somtime soon. Storms just keep rolling in and I think this winters weather has really been & created a difficult wintere for me. Ahh! This too shall Pass and I will be very happy for spring.

I hope you all had a relaxing Sunday, I watched the movie "National Treasure" and found it entertaining and then for the umteenth time "US Marshals" and I plan to watch another movie later too. What a lazy bum, but the more I hold still, the less pain that I have courseing through my entire body in waves of deep pain.

Thank you all for your wonderful words and kindness to one another. I guess we all have to learn are internet lessons along the way. I know that I have learned quite a great deal in the past 4 years, that I've activily participated in forum groups. I guess we all have to be careful sharing our emails in forum groups, from what I understand there are programs that spammers use to search through sites like this an seek out email addresses to use for improper solicitation.
I think you all are aware of the private messaging system on this site and also over in the sharepost area, so If you decide to share with anyone, I would just say, we need to do it in the private areas and not in our posts. It just seems safer for us all.

Much love and many hugs for you all. You all have been so very kind to me and I cannot even put in words how important you all are in my life.
Take Care
I really hope to be doing better after I try to get a good nights sleep.
Betty

Late nite greetings all,
Adrian, is that anything like"go ahead punk make my day"??
Nothin like a large caliber hand gun to bring
some body to your way of thinking! I taught my
wife how to handle guns a long time ago. It's come
in handy a couple times against snakes in florida,
we had a shooting range in the front yard. It was cool.
Betty, hope ya don't get buried out there!!!

Nite all

hahaha - yes , chuck , good ol' clint - it is a good thing to have around whne you are alone also ..

actaully it is a high caliber air gun, but it can hurt someone and looks like a 45 .. i used to have a .357 magnum , as clint did in the movies and my pop being a cop , showed all of us how to use handguns ..

we went to a shooting range , back in the day, as children in NJ .. he wanted us to know gun safety .. and harm.

in florida i went to a shooting range a few times to be sure i still had it , but the gun was a rental .. i owned a small caliber .22 , but the air gun won't kill someone unless your are a good shot .. lol

but it's good you & the mrs. have knowledge of use of a handgun .. we also would go deep in country to use rifles , never really liked them as much , my shoulder just couldn't take the back lash, and i couldn't hit the target as well.

so i stuck with a handgun , as you know you can aim and use two hands to do the job .. man i sound awfully rough ?

anyway , i am glad i gave you a good laugh yesterday betty , as i feel a big part of fighting pain is laughter , not all the time but it can help ..

i have assigned myself sunday as my "no thinking" day , sunday is resrved for my spiritual side and faith .. and no thinking .. i ask the Lord to keep my mind clear of all thoughts except Him .. and i usually play my inspirational discs to keep me humble and remember that i am HIs servant , and not the other way around ..

the weather did play a gigantic role in my physical being though , yesterday .. this morning i am okay, but not good as i would like .. sigh .. i will take it easy today and not do too much , maybe laundry some laundry ..

for all the ugliness of yesterday, i still got some work done , dusting, vaccuuming and forced some food down .. then i just took meds and slept .. until the SAG awards ..

what a remarkable tribute paid to Heath Ledger by Daniel Day-Lewis was tear provoking for me .. and the fact that they added Heath to the memorial part of great cators that have passed away in the last year .. sad ..

it was absoluetly phenominal to see Charles Durning honored and to learn of his heroic efforts during the war .. I always thought him to be a great actor .. and then to have Mickey Rooney , who probably is the eldest SAG member alive .. amazing ..

All in all i liked the way the whole show was put together and ran so smoothly .. even Burt Reynolds presentation as well as Denis Learys' were apprapo ...

It was a good night cap for me .. I even watched some of it again as i snuggled in bed , but then had to watch my Law and Order :SVU .. like you chuck i am a fan of these sorta shows ..

anyway .. i will be around , except for a short trip back to the Walgreens as they oly gave me a partial on my script and i gotta pick up the rest today foo shoo - giggle ( that's italian for "for sure" ) - giggle

ttfn - a

Adrian:

sounds like it was a really good SAG show ... sorry I missed it.

All:

today is the first day that I've felt sort of healthy since Friday. There's a nasty bug going around my neck of the woods. I have to push myself into getting ready for a therapist appointment but I'll check back later.

Goood Morning Pain Friends

Much better morning than the past, I'm just a little weary today, but I think I'll be better once I do some stretching & take my am meds.
I may even get dressed today. (((Smile)))) It's good to see all of you freind up and visiting already.

It's another cold, very cold Washington day, lotsa the white stuff, but not quite as much as the weather man said we'd get, the pressure has risen by quite a bit and that is always a good sign for me, it still has a ways to go since yesterday, but I'm happier with this mornings results. It's a chilli 30.9 degrees out there, so nothing will be melting any time soon.

Adrian; Your just a dear! I'm glad you have your own protection. I've not heard of an air gun, except for the boys bb or pellet guns? You'd think I'd know more about guns, Pop was a gun collector and left beautiful antigue refurbished rifles & hand guns to all the grand sons in the family. I also have two brothers & dad too, who are considered to be the best hunters around. My husband & I are neither. My husband happens to love the woodland creatures as I do, so we just buy our meat. He used to go hunting, but between me and the animals, we knew he really did not need to take his gun, he was more likely to take pictures and drink a couple beers with his buddies in the evening and hang around the campfire. Although after hearing about a tragic event during last hunting season, we both decided that the state should not allow people with guns in the woods having any alcohol. Some people get out in the woods & guns & alcohol is a very, dangerous combo. My husband stopped hunting about 15 years ago.

Chuck; It's so good to see your feeling a bit better. I hope your painful conditions continue to improve and you get back to your normal baseline. I'm certain you'll be relieved for spring too.

Mark; I really hope your therapy apt goes well and you feel good later, but I bet you'll need some rest. Appts can really be draining on us.
hope to see you after bit, it's a pleasure always.

Well, guys and gals, I think I'll go check out a few sites and see what's going on. You all have a wonderful day and I'll check back after bit.

Hugs & hopes for a good day for all
Betty

Hi All,

I left my therapy session feeling better about myself and re-considering staying put at home ... HOWEVER, it only took a few biting words (from Audrey) in a sarcastic tone to undo this ... now I feel like a prisoner again! YUK! ... my therapist gave sometime in the Spring as enough to time to leave or stay (based on how marriage counseling went) ... I'm really full of mixed emotions right now. I was even shouted at by Audrey for watching my favorite DVD, "V is for Vendetta" ... no one else was even in competition for use of the DVD player at the time ... this is all such a venomous situation that Spring cannot come soon enough.

Greetings All,
What a day we had. In the 50's sun shiney, I got to walk around the neighborhood. I didn't want to
come in the house.
I was kinda ragged after the walk but, it was
worth it, first time I'd been on my deck in 2 weeks.
Adrian, i grew up with guns around and was fortunate
enough to go hunting with my dad and uncles. Who taught me the rules, then in the Navy my duties involved weapons and teaching other folks. It was a cool job!
Betty, I haven't been hunting since I was a teen. I still go shooting on a rare occaision with my brother. You're guns and alcohol is a combo thats always ends badly. Hope you're weather improves, that stuff kills me.
Mark, hope you're feeling better and good thought for the therapy..Chicken Soup does work.
I'll check back later
