Ok, alrighty then.
I'm already logged on and it's before noon. That's a major feat these days. I woke up at 5am, with my husband running around the room getting ready for work, but decided that getting up at 5 would make this day wayyyyyy too long, so I called my little princess poodle over to snug with mommy and we went back to snooze awhile.

I'm going to try not to be a major mess up today. I've already got meat out for dinner LOL

Gloria; Great to see you again. I sure have great experience with the pitty party's too dear. I'm haven one these days too. OH, a hot tub sounds really nice right now, but burrr cold to walk out and get into one. I've been looking at those premere bathtubs that they show on tv. You walk in, sit down on a bench, then fill the whole thing up. It has jets and the whole deal. I would love to have one. Maybe some day.

I'm hoping to get a couple of small chores done around here to day, it's windy, cold & very wet, so does not look like a walk day, but if I do a few chores, I'll feel better any how.

The stomach was very upset when I rose, but I've eaten some oatmeal and taken my meds, so I hope all settles down. I have an apt with my Primary care tomorrow afternoon and I'm hoping he'll either order more tests & give me a diet ideas and explain some more to me, once he's seen my sonnagram of my abdomen. I wish he'd do an Mri, so we can see what kind of nasty changes my spine has done in the past two years. He used to do the Ct scans once a year to see what's up, and everyone has gotten worse & worse since my pain began, so I am wondering what an mri would tell us.

Chuck; Sound like a irritating mornin. I really hate sharing my puters too. Son comes home and instead of hooking up his lap top, he uses my machines, complains about any new software I'm using. He lives with a couple of puter geeks and fusses like crazy about everything I do. Just drives me buggy. For some odd reason, my machines always run weird and cut out and all kinds of stuff, after he's done with them too. Hope your home is all back to quiet again.

Mark; Hows it going in the big city? Hope all is well and your still getting your sleep too. Talk to ya later.

Adrian; Funny girl. I think your time for chat would be at 7pm? What time zone are yuo in?
cuz I'm at 5pm out here in booniville, so you have to be somewhere inbetween the guys at 8pm & me at 5pm? right? We'll get er figured out.

Gloria, I'm going to send you a private message and ask if you would like to join us tonight in chat. Do you have a yahoo or messinger chat name. Don't put it on here, I'll send you a private not you can answer.

Alright! I'm gonna go get dressed and do something.

Hugs for all
Betty

Yusaf Islam is quite at home and has been given awards for his work in promoting peace in the world, including the 2004 Man for Peace award and the 2007 Mediterranean Prize for Peace.

yes, i too would be very interested in his story .. I get the arabic World Mag. to keep up on things in the Middleeast, as that is where from family goes back to ..

Betty , I am on line with my messenger service , I will check er out around 7 and see .. I am in Central MTN. time zone (7), it's kinda weird but that's what they call it ..

Gloria, iy would nice having a little "spice" in our mix .. do we really have a pity party thread ? giggle .. maybe sometimes , but that is what we set it up for , right ?

Betty, i can empathize , when I wake up too early anymore , I grab my Dachsy and snuggle as Penny the Bagel (lol) gets up whenever she likes .. but I am learning to sleep later , taking shorter naps and trying to go to bed later ..

The NP advised this as i was just sleeping day and night .. fatigue from the slightest jobs , like laundry, food shopping usually get me beat .. so I take pills and sleep .. but I did not like that too much ..

So he said try not getting up at 4 or 5 am .. instead try to not take a 4 hour nap , then no matter how i am feeling stay awake until 10 pm .. been doing this a week now and it is okay .. of course we are not as freezing as you in WA but it is just so darn cold , not very inspiring to head downtown for my walks .. giggle .. but I still do my excersizing and it gets the old juices flowing ..

Looking forward to this chat tonite , never been on one where you get instant message , how do you not get confused .. lol

Man, it was a glorious day today , 50 something (like me) and sunshiny all day .. so i had my door open all day .. felt good to breathe the fresh air .. i think that is what i needed today ..

Hey Chuck, bro's friend downloaded music , 987 tunes, onto his iPhone, but he stopped by for a cup o joe and to say "later" as he is going to be gone til March sometime ...

Mark, hope you are doing better , and you too Chuck ..

Betty that is awful that your stomach is so inflamed , yikes .. well, my scalp finally calmed down alot more .. it seems there was some inlammation going on and not MS related so it was probably the Fibro .. darn these diseases .. giggle

I am in a happy mood though, it's funny (odd) , when I get to be talkin here I seem to feel better ..

Well, cooked din-din and am not hungry , maybe cause i ate all those cashews earlier .. oops .. but I am full ... so I will save it all for tomorrow ..

I didn't know Mark was in the Big City , where ? Why ? .. something to tell me later, I guess I missed reading that .. well , time to do some dancing , "Spanish Rose" is on , Van Morrison, love it !

"Betty, Betty, Betty ... so glad to be back .. listening to "Father/Son" by the Cat .. even though it is , I make it Father and daughter .. giggle .. that was me when I was young .. always the upstart .. but for a good cause ...change , it is coming but very slowly ...

Cat Stevens in the day was such a faithfilled person, and inspired me deeply to care .. I still pray that he comes "home" ..."

Yusuf Islam is Cat Stevens and he is still a man of deep and abiding faith. His life is still dedicated to peace and he found the answers he sought within Islam. Cat Stevens is home.....

"As a singer who sprang from a generation of highly idealistic free spirits between the 60's and 70's, I like to think the songs I wrote somehow held up an altruistic mirror to our planet's time and era. Though times have changed, it's a nice surprise to see that youthful feeling of anti-war sentiment returning once more to the cobbled main streets of Europe.

Peace Train is a song I wrote, the message of which continues to breeze thunderously through the hearts of millions of human beings and there is a powerful need for people to feel that gust of hope rise up again.

Thirty years later, as Yusuf Islam, I have more right and more reason to reclaim this anthem of my evolutionary Cat Stevens period, that's why I rerecorded it. As a member of humanity and as a Muslim, this is my contribution to the call for a peaceful solution to the dangerous path some world leaders today seem to be taking."

Greetings All,
Nice chat we had this evening even though I was
late, had to take daughter to work. My wife drives
and I ride shotgun. Things we do for our kids....
Adrian, I agree with your philosophy laughing is a whole lot better than crying! I have to laugh, even
if no body else understands I do.
Folks will bring you down weather they know it
or not and some care and some don't.
On that note I'm outa here hope all have a good nite.

chuck

beakerless - all i can say is awesome - and the quote was right on - peace , the hearts desire , with all .. i never really followed up on Yusaf, as i fell into working and was all consumed .. i never lost track of the emotion, and often listened to his music for inspiation , so i did what i could , as an independent bus. owner, to promote peace ..

It hurts when people think he is a traitor , i was not saying he should change, whatever a person believes in was always okay to me, my family , as long as people are respectful of each other and willing to learn with an open mind ...

i may have misunderstood one thing, at one point we here were told he was too radical for the Muslim , and they asked him to go .. is this true ? or was it he was tooo radical to promote peace between the nations and people ? that is what i meant by home ..

I understand him now to be back in England and is releasing more of his music and i have heard it is wonderful .. i myself have just the one album , now cd, and still listen everyday ..

if you read some of my rambling , i too feel people of all color, nationality and religion should be as one .. and if people would just read or speak with each without disdain in their hearts or some preconceived notions , maybe we could have peace ..

another musician i favor is John Lennon .. not everyone agreed with him either .. and some took offense at his "no religion" concept , but of course he had the right to say & feel anyway he wanted .. while others took offense , i thought yes, it would be nice , then maybe we wouldn't hate so much ...

my family, i am second generation here, is originaly from (dad) Cyprus , (mom) my yiaya , was from Bundos near Istambul or Constantinople , by bapou was from a small region in what is now syria, not sure of the name ... but as there was always struggle for religious control amongst other resaons , they all landed in Greece (what is now Greece anyway) , but for quite sometime all got along it was "outsiders" like the french, persians and british that i sorta feel pushedd relion as a means to end the freindships and bonds made by the people .. as they lived together at times in peace ..

many of my family were married to turks, or others and turned to the muslim faith as a means to not have to leave their beloved homelands .. or failies as well .. it is a rich and colorful culture .. and while i am "Hellenic" , i am not from the places that people know ..

so i buy the Arabic Magazine to find out about the culture, art and beauty of the lands .. which is also a part of my family .. so i meant no harm in my post to you , i just did not know Cat as Yusaf .. rather i thank you for pointing out my ignorance on this subject ... adrian

Good Morning All,

it's a chilly 11 degrees here in DC this Monday morning. I really enjoyed last night's live chat. I just wish I could be better at keyboarding.

Just a thought here: should we consider having a focus for our weekly chats?--e.g., how to laugh away the pain, how to cope, etc. or should we continue as is in a free form "ramblecast" style? ... just a thought here ... either direction is fine with me ... I just thought like asking the question.

I wish everyone a low-no pain day day!

Good Morning All,
Woke up to chilly stuff here too 15 balmy degrees.
Talk about some strange weather goin on.
I always thought being a weather guy would
be a cool job, it's always fascinated me.
Mark, I could go either way on the topics.
Hadn't really given it a lot of skull time.
Course there are some that would say not much
gets in or out LOL.. Whatever everybody would
want to talk about is fine with me.
Gloria, predestination? Is that like fate??
I think we all have a path and the choices we
make determines in what direction we go.
Chuck
