Good Late night Evening Friends

I've been here with Helen for six days & nights now. I'm really wearing down to a frazzle and my pain is pretty high tonight. So I told Helen once I got her settled after supper, that I was coming in to lay down on my bed and do some reading and puter replies and responses, to my friends.

The new Caregiver is starting tomorrow afternoon, I'm so excited for her to begin and I've got everything cleaned up and organized for her. I really think she is perfect for the job and really curious to see how she & Helen get along with one another. She's (Janette) never done 24 hour care and stayed in a clients home before, so this is all new to her. She's really excited to get started and looking forward to her time here.

Helen told me I could have dishnetwork put in the bedroom here, so we caregivers can watch satellite tv, instead of the cruddy local channels. I'm really happy about that too. It will make the nights alot easier and nicer for us all.

Rod & I are leaving now on Thursday am for Bend Oregon, instead of the coast. The weather is supposed to be hot and we have reservations at a very nice resort, with a pool and all the emenities that I enjoy. It should be fun and I'm really looking forward to our little trip. This week has been a really long one, but I'm feeling really good about the turn out and about Helen's improvement in walking and moving around. I think she's going to continue needing the walker and I would be surprised if she cast it aside. I think her fall really scared her and she'll want to use the walker from now on too. We will see, but I sure hope so.

Chuck; Any Labor day festivities today?? I know you had your day at your sister's, but thought maybe Bobby had today off and you guys would do something fun today too. I hope your pain recovered from your sisters, so you were able to do something with Bobby. I always feel so bad when my pain is really high on Rods day off and does not allow us to carry out our plans. Do any flyin today towards the storms?? I've not heard the full scoop on what all has happened or how much damage, but I certainly hope no one was injured or worse. Take Care of your self buddy and I'll talk to ya tomorrow. From home sweet home. Big Grin Cool

Scottie; Hows it going buddy?? Did you have any fun functions to attend this weekend? I wish we could of went to a barBQ or something fun, but oh Well, we'll have fun the end of the week and I guess that will be our Labor Day celebration. I hope your meds are still working well, let us know when you get time.
Take Care buddy! and we'll see you when you can.

Adrian; I think you'll be back soon? I sure miss you girlie. I really hope your trip was a blast and you got all the R&R you so deserve. Let us know when you get home and how the trip went. Miss you honey!

Well, gang!
I'm gonna go take a look at the share posts and then try to get to bed. I did not sleep last night and it really threw me for a whopper. So I'm just hoping tonight will go better. Helen gets up to smoke and I can hear her electric recliner go up and down, the motor is loud. So it wakes me up every time and I wait to listen for her walker as she goes into the bathroom about 5 times a night too. So between the 4 or 5 smokes and her trips to the BR, it feels like I'm constantly being woke up. I'm gonna really sleep tomorrow when I get home to my own bed. AWWWWWWWWWW! Home Sweet Home
I miss my hubby and he keeps callin to tell me how much he misses me too. We've not been apart like this in a very long time. Confused

Hugs & Love to you all
Many prayers too
Betty

Hi, I am new here, but reading your story about being a caregiver, whew!!! I really truly do not know how you do it, not sleeping like that, it cannot be good for your health, but happy to hear that you are taking a trip with the hubby and relaxing, God love your heart, it sounds like you are ready for it and also glad to hear that you will be sleeping in your own bed tomorrow. I just hope that you do not sleep throughout your whole trip, it sounds like you are exhausted.

Have fun and get you some rest, ok?

Good Evening pain gang

I'm home at last and laying in my wonderful own bed with my pooches and Mr. Heating pad and then of course my friend lappy. I just cannot express how happy I am to be home and in my own bed.

I'm so pooped, exhausted and down right drained. I don't know how I survived this past week, but am so thankful to God for carrying me on through the days and helping me to interview, find and train another old friend to take over and care for my dearest Helen. So far they seem to be hitting it off and I really feel that all is going to be well and we will trade off, so that everyone gets time at home to rest and see their family. I'm finally at peace with this arrangement and so thankful for all that we've made it through this week.

T*Jay; Welcome, Welcome, Welcome to our little corner of the web. Your welcome to comment and join us any time you'd like to talk, vist, complain or need a shoulder to cry on. We are here for you and care about you and what your going through and you journey through pain. I was tickled pink to see that you stopped by to say hello and I also appreciate your comments and kind words. Big Grin

Well, it seems a bit slow here these days and I'm sure it's been my own lack of activity too. I hope to get more organized and back to my posting twice perday. I miss you all and hope that all is going well.

I'm going to be home all day resting tomorrow and I have to pack for our trip, then we leave on Thursday morning fairly early to rest and lay in the sun for a few days. I'm sooooooo looking forward to this trip and just cannot wait to get out of town.

I have alot of prayers of thanksgiving to pray the next few days, I feel so blessed to of found someone I can rely on a who will love & care for Helen just as she so deserves.

Warm thoughts and loving hugs
Betty

Greetings fellow painiacs,
Another hot day here in southern ky so, there's not been
a lot of outside stuff for me. Didn't do much on labor day
Boobi, had to work so I just went and got dinner at KFC.
Doesn't take much cooking and our apartment gets really
warm and then takes a while to cool down.
Did some flying in and around the storms flight sim
does make it fairly interesting stuff. My pain was kinda
high on sunday and some monday, finally got another walk
in this morning. It was really painful after not walking
for a few day. But, we have new Bones tonite and I'm lookin
forward to that.
T*jay--welcome to the grind. Just jump in anytime.
Betty, Glad you're getting some much needed rest finally.
I KNOW it's good to be home .

Good Morning grinders

It's so nice to be here in my own recliner with my heating pad and kicking back for some much needed rest. I'm in restore mode and hoping to get another good nights sleep, I slept like a log last night and it was wonderful to gonk out as soon as Rod got into bed. All was right and Helen was in good hands, so I got the best nights rest that I've had in three weeks. AWWWWWWWWWWW it was great!

I'm sorry bout your extra pain Chuck, I guess it's just a come & go thing, but it sure seems more like a coming thing, than going away thing. Such is a life of Chronic Pain. I'm glad you got the walk in, I always feel like it helps to clear the cob webs from my head, even if it increases the pain. Too bad Bobby had to work on Labor Day, but atleast you had a family gathing over the weekend when she could come.
Hows the Kids doing? The sun doing good in his new place? Does your daughter still live at your house or has she gone to school?
Take Care Pain Brother and I'll stop in later.

I've got to gather up my clothes for our trip and repack my suit case. I dropped my poodle off at the groomers last night and had her clipped, because I knew I would not be up to clipping and grooming the dog before we went and she really needed a hair cut. She's a bit cold today, but she looks nice and I've got her covered in a blankie& we are sharing the heating pad, so she has stopped shivering. lol It's only 72 outside and she & I are wimps. lol

Talk to ya all later and have a nice day. Much love and please join us, Everyone is welcome.

Hugs
Betty

Good Evening Grinders

It's been a wonderful uneventful day here in the cabbage patch. I was in the recliner with my therapy pooch honey and we got kind of caught up on some replies and posts, participated in a group chat this evening and I waited for Rod to come home with pizza and we had a nice dinner together and I came to bed to do more of the same on the puter. I just have a few more mailings to send and I'm caught back up.

Mattie had a softball game tonight and hit the winning home run for his team. Rod went to watch the game and I stayed in my recliner and rested up.

I got myself packed up and am all ready to leave in the morning for Bend Oregon for our little vacation alone. No kids this time an we can just shop and mess around seeing some sites or sit by the pool. I can have wireless and that is always lovely. hehe
We are leaving at 9am, Rod is going to run the other dogs down to grandma's and then come back home and pick me & honey up to head to central oregon. I'm so excited about this get away and cannot wait to leave.

My pain has been high most the day, but the rest has done it some good. I'm in bed early and plan to fall asleep shortly, so I can be up & atem early and be all ready to hit the road. I'm still hoping my pain is not still flard up, but even if it is, I'm going and I'll work on pain control and rest once we get into our room.
WE are playing our acitivities by ear and just gonna do what we or I feel like doing. They have lots of nice running trails for Rod to run on and he will get up every am and take a run before I even get up. I'm just excited and I will try to keep up on posting just like normal.

I'm not sure when Adrian will be home now, I guess I expected her to be here by now, but she may be still recovering.

Iwish Mark would stop by and let us know how it's going. I wish him all the best in his new endevor and I might just send him an email to let him know I'm thinkin of him.

Chuck; I hope your day went alright and your pain has come down. You have a Good night and take care, I'll be by tomorrow afternoon friend.

Scottie; How ya doing buddy? I sure enjoy your art creations and I hope you share some more. Hows your pain doing?

T-Kay; I hope you come back to visit more with us. Your very welcome to join us any time you want. I appreciate your words and it was nice to meet you.

Well
I'm gonna hit the hay soon and get some rest.
Hugs to all and I hope more of you watchers will come visit with us.

Betty

PS; Helen called and she is really enjoying her new caregiver and they both seem to be getting along wonderfully. Best news I've had in a long while.

Hi BettyBoop too, thank YOU for the kind words. I had no idea that this website even existed until a friend of mine brought it to my attention.

I work so much that I do not have a lot of spare time to come to websites like this and do the things that you can do on here, but I have taken my tv time and utilized it to be on here, instead of watching the tube, lol.

I am excited for you going on your trip. I am happy for you also. Kudos to anyone that can take the time and have the money these days to be able just to get away and relax. I will be praying that you are safe going and coming.

Well friend, it is time to go to work. I also have to go out today and pay bills and have a drs appt this evening too, so my itinerary is very full for the day. Just hope I have the energy to make it through, lol.

You have a wonderful and bright day and I will talk to you soon.

Hugs,

T*KAY

Good Morning All,
Hope you're having a wonderful day.
I'm well got another walk in this morning it was nice in the low 70's for a change. My pain had come back to normal prolly 6 or 7 depending on what I'm doing. Tolerable with the help of modern chemistry..
Betty, enjoy your vacation and quiet time. I think everyone needs to "recharge" every once in a while. I don't remember when Adrian said she was returning, hope fully all is well with her and going in the right direction..
have a good one.
chuck

Hi Friends,

as I was telling Chuck, I'll be moving to Norway by the end of the month. I have all of my medical records for the past 22 years.

The Lyrica and Cymbalta combination has significantly lowered my pain. Going to a pain clinic has greatly improved the quality of my life.

I wish you all a great evening and night

What a lovely afternoon it is indeed!

We arrived here in Bend Oregon about an hour ago, we've unloaded the car, walked my honey, ate a sandwich out on our balcony over looking the river. Wow, what a great room! We are on the second floor and the room is very nice, roomy with two queen beds, a large bathroom and a very nice desk with the nicest desk chair I've ever sat in, another very cozy tv chair in the corner and it's just a beautiful place. I'm so tickled and it's just Rod, me and my doggie. We have a beautiful indoor and outdoor pool and Rod has a nice work out room to keep him busy too. After the past three weeks dealing with Helen and then doing the 24X7 shift of caring for her every need. I'm just pooped and this is exactly what I needed. AWWWW! We are staying till Sunday and I'm really happy about that too.

My pain is up a bit high after the 3 hour drive, but between (as chuck would say) modern chemistry and my dear heating pad, I'm relaxing and going to hang in the room for a while to rest and get this pain to come down.
Rod is down taking a swim and having a beer, so he'll be down there for awhile and then we will rest a bit and I've got to run to the pet store for a couple of things.
We are going to eat dinner at this really nice steak house and it really sounds great. I'm just so excited today and feel so peacful that Helen is taken care of and I don't have to worry myself sick over her this time away like I normally have to.

I'm also so happy to see that TK, Chuck and Mark have been by to visit today. It's so nice to hear from you all.

TK; I hope your busy day goes smooth and your docs apt too. Sometimes those docs apts can be very stressful and I just hope you both see eye to eye and he does something helpful for your pain. People don't deserve to live with this type of pain and as long as we have the proper meds to treat it, then they should be offered for us. Have a nice day and I really appreciate you stopping in to visit. I know people don't have all the time that I have to hang around these places and that's why it's an open group, so everyone can come on their own terms, no stress, no fuss. Good to see you again hon.

Mark; My dear buddy & friend. Your forsure making your move??? Your dreams are coming true buddy and I cannot tell you how happy I am for you. I really hope you'll be able to stop in and visit and tell us all about what it's been like to move across the pond like that. Your in my prayers daily buddy and I really want you to find happiness that you deserve. I'm excited for you brother. Great to hear about your pain control too. Since I began the effexor & the started the Vit D 2,000 mg per day. I've really done much better too and I am very happy with the results, but I'll have to see if it can hold up to the test of winter cold & snow or not. hehe Then I'll know for sure.

Chuck; Glad to hear your pain has come down some, but 7 still seems a bit high or is that close to your average to begin with? I know I go through times that a 7 can be good compared to the rest of the days and that's normally our winter pressure changes doings. I hope you have a good day and get your R& R. Nice to get the painful walk over with early and you can hope that the pain will come down before Bobby comes home. Take Care buddy and I'll talk to you again soon.

Hugs & Love to you all
I'm so happy to hear from you and hope all goes well for you too.
Take Care of your selves and I'll be around. I love this highspeed wireless and I can get so many more posts done than I do at home waiting for them to finally come up and waiting for pages to load and all. This feels like I'm in a racecar. lol
Talk to ya soon
Betty

Hi, pain people! I'm new...So nice to feel like I'm not alone because you are right: family has a hard time understanding pain that goes on and on and on...
So, Betty, you remind me of my sister-in-law. I hope you are feeling better today. I have two things to share: 1. If anyone has access to a warm water pool, it is very helpful for many pain conditions. 2. Does anyone have a spinal cord stimulator? I'm supposed to be getting one and I was just curious if anyone has experience with that. Good to be on the site!
Have fun in Oregon, Betty! It is beautiful there.

Hi all - I got in last evening .. had a really nice time , so it flew by ... am lost as to all that has been happening here .. see we have new posters .. welcome , welcome .. and am happy everything is going well for the most part .. can't believe Mark will be heading to Norway .. that is wonderful , and Chucks' been flying .. I think we passed on my way home yesterday .. lol .. so good to have my babies home .. and will list the condo tomorrow ..

I am happy with my decision to move to AZ .. and am still smokeless .. so what more can one ask .. for now I am good with my decisions, and setting my boundries ... as discussed with my last session ... none are perfect , but they are a work in progress ...

Time for me to really heal and take myself into consideration .. no more putting my own belief system aside , and no more feeling guilty about it ... so , with that I will say good night to all ... peace - Adrian

Good Afternoon friends

I'm finally up & at em today. When we came home from our lovely dinner last night, I hit that brick wall of fatigue and just took time to change into my night gown and was out when I hit the pillow. AWWWWWWWWW

ADRIAN!!!!!!!! I'm so excited to see your home. I've actually been chuckling to myself all morning thinking of you and hoping you had a wonderful time. Also as I was trying to keep my eyes open, was thinking that once Adrian reads the past week of post, she's gonna want to give me a big DUH (over my collapse today) and say something like. Every one who knew this was coming raise your hands. LOLOL

I'm still at a definate place of peace with life and even though I'm finding it a challenge to walk to the balcony of the motel room, I'm really having a nice time despite the high level of pain and the severe fatigue (which is all my fault) but what the heck. I made it to the trip and Rod is happy doing his thing. They have really great running trails in this whole town and he went shopping and bought a new pair of running shoes and is now down laying at the pool drinking a beer.

I'm held up in a lovely room with all my hearts needs & desires. My honey is laying on my lap as I type and I've a beautiful view where I'm sitting of the Deshutes river passing. I've got the slider open to the sunshine and can hear the water ripple by. I've got my tv on Monk, my prayer books and bible by the nice chair and my puter. What else in this world could Betty want or enjoy. giggle

If you think about it, we motel dwellers really never spend nearly enough time enjoying our motel rooms. We pay bookoo bucks to stay in one, then spend all our time running around seeing the sites. So I will say, that I'm getting my $$ worth of this room and the little sweet spanish speaking maid and I had a wonderful visit this am but I think we may of garbbled through the communication gap and both were happy with the results. I just used hand signals and some charades and she left me all the things I needed. Smiler She was really nice and did not loose her patience with me and my poor spanish skills. I really should of payed more attention in that spanish class in HS. I think I was having too much fun though. Roll Eyes

Welcome Gimpy, I left you a message over in the introduction board and I'm thrilled you joined us. Come as often as you'd like and as you can see, the topic is pretty open around here and your welcome to share your story with us, so we can get to know you better.
I have a tens unit, but not a stimulator. We'd all love to hear of your experience with it and some of the others might know more about it than me too, so ask some questions and share all your comfortable with.
I have to laugh, now that you mentioned the school teacher occupation, I'm very aware of my poor grammer and spelling. lol Sorry bout that, I'm still sounding things out. LOL

Hugs & love to you all and I'm just thrilled to have our Adrian home too. Welcome home sweetie!
We missed you
Betty
