Happy Monday All,

It's 8:30 AM over here. I get to take Melissa to school for her part-time re-entry back into her routine. She's happy to be making that transition back into her "daily grind."

Chuck, no sweat about the Sunday chat! ... you're health comes first anyway! ... I just like getting together with all of you guys, since we seem to have so many laughs when we do AND laughing is good for what ails us.

Adrian, same goes for you: if you're not feeling well OR have other things than conflict, I understand, just as I understand that Betty and Chuck couldn't make it.

One thing I learned was that dial-up connections for webcam live chat aren't really compatible with my high-speed connection ... when I spoke to Betty (during a practice run), I heard her but both of our voices echoed a lot (on my end) plus I couldn't see Bety although she was able to see (and hear) me ... no matter, since we have dual capability of keyboarding too ... except I would of liked to see Betty while talking to her ... I guess that this technology is something that won't really work 100% until all of us are on high-speed (broadband) connections.

Betty, please don't rush into satellite or any other type of broadband just for this.

Chuck, you have broadband right? ... if you do, I'd like to test out the connection with you whenever you're up to it.

I can't wait until my re-scheduled consult with the back surgeon (next week) ... I'm gonna call today to make sure that they did not cancel me again AND find someone else if they did. Boy, I hate being an hour's drive away from a 8:00 AM appointment only to get there and find out that I've been cancelled without any warning.

Adrian, if Betty liked my accent, wait until she hears yours ... LOL ... (or HA HA HA).

I'll check back in later ... hope that you all have a lo-no pain day!

Greetings All,
Hope you guys are having a good Monday.
It's almost springlike here high 50's and sunny
I even got a nice walk in. I'm paying for it
though, my pain is up to about 8.5 after meds even.
I'm trying to find a pair of shoes that don't
hurt my feet knees-back, I've purchased several.
My son got me a pair of NIKE air(supposed to be good) i can't where them longer than 15 or 20 minutes. New balance has a pair i'm gonna try next.
Mark, yep i have broadband just uphraded to 10 meg.
Adrian, you ok??
Betty, how bout you?

Afternoon All,

my pain level is about a "1" right now (maybe "0"). I sure wish that Chuck and everyone else had low (or better yet no) pain right now. The stormy weather raised me to about 8 or 9 (without BT med's) but right now it's sunny and almost spring-like [but not that warm (only 48 F)].

When everyone is up to it, I'd like to do a group chat ... it doesn't have to be on a Sunday (or does it)?

I emailed Adrian to let her know that I'm part of the drug infested tap water problem ... goes back to when I flushed my Effexor and Wellbutrin down the drain ... these 2 anti-depressants had awful side-effects on top of never really working ... I apologize to anyone who is drinking tap water and starts to feel like I used to when I took these 2 Rx drugs.

I sure wish that people were dumping Marinol (or Sativex) down the drain (instead of the other garbage), then maybe I'd go back to drinking tap water [LOL].

Hi - just awake - it is a pretty day out around 50 .. still not feeling all that hot .. and the mutss want out .. can't say I blame them .. this has been the longest winter i can ever remember ..

Just thought I would respond here , Mark ,, I read about the water thing this mroning online .. seems that the water we flush here in Santa Fe is loaded with anti-depressants .. wow , not sure if this is another way for the government to retsrict the use of such drugs , but they still want to turn the plant (Los Lomas) , northern NM , into aplutonium piston plant for the triggers on bombs ..

And as his resigning this session, our gracious Sen. Domenici has pledged to turn Ft. Collins (?) into another nuclear plant , to supply more power for the state ..

Amazing, I agree . too bad it wasn't marinol or sativex in the tap water, i would be drinking it .. maybe ..

I have a symptom from the MS and/or pills , that give my bowels a problem.

I normally use cod liver pills and metamucil to soften and create a movement .. when it gets to be around day 4 if iI am not movins, I get awful pains .. so I made a trip to the pharmacist .. he recommended that I shouldn't let it go that long , (DUH) , so he suggested this solution that is taken for this problem , also for colonoscopy exams .. well dingy me may have made it too strong , so I was flush (giggle) and sick a bit .. it is funny now, but I think I will stick to my usual routine ..

Oh no ! what have I done, in two days only God knows how many drugs I have flushed down to toilet .. lol

Good Afternoon all

I'm moving kind of slow today (not Adrians kind of movin) lol Sorry just kidding.
I'm really quite fatigued from my activities and can hardly keep my eyes open. my pain was up this am, but it's doing very good right now and only about a 3, so that's nice. I'm just a sleepy head. I did not have any plans for today and I planned it that way, so tomorrow I can get up early and go to town to help Helen, take her dog to the groomer and her to get her hair done, so I'll probably be back down in pain tuesday night and hopefully wednesday I can relax and get recharged so I can do an acitivity at the end of the week. It's so silly how we have to plan our days and weeks carfully and always hold tight to days of rest in our schedule's.

I truely do apologize for missing the chat time, I did not intend to leave poor Mark in the lurch like that. At first I thought you guys read my post and thought it was cancelled or something. Anyway, I'm really sorry, I hate being an unreliable person and this darn pain thing has turned me into the very person that irritates me. Humbling can be painful and I really do think the dear lord has a sense of humor in this.

I did enjoy my time with the video chat with Mr. Mark yesterday, it was a real treat. Sorry you could not see me, I could see you perfectly and the furniture behind you with the pictures on it and it was very clear. probably best you couldn't see me, your screen may of cracked. lol.
I will try and make arrangements to go down to mom's and use a highspeed connection on what ever day you guys decide to try it again. I just did not want to leave Rod last night, as it would of hurt his feelings.

Until then I'm always around to chat by typing too, so don't be shy. Wink

Chuck; I hope your pain will come down today sometime. I know how those shopping trips can be a killer for a pain person. It's very rare that I can go to Wally World and come out without having extreme pain forcing me to race for home or tell my husband I need him to race for home. He never can understand why I don't want to stop somewhere and get something to eat. For some reason I cannot eat when I'm in pain.

Adrian; Hello dear heart. Hey, have you ever looked at my bowel maintanence program on my carecentral page? if your interested in looking at it, then let me know and I'll send you an invite again, so you can take another look. I like this particular program as it's flexible and a person can make their own adjustments to the program according to their own system. The meds that are used are not the horrible harsh ones that have a person doubled over in abdomenal pain & in the BR for hours. I got mine from my pain mgt classes I took. It's worked the best for me, with the least amount of hassle & discomfort. Just let me know hon.

Mr. Mark; Really happy for melissa. I bet she missed her friends and they are so important to girls her age. I'm also glad she's feeling well enough to get back to her daily schedule. I bet she's tired this evening though. I bet mom & dad are happy their little girl is getting better too. By the way, How is old chappie? what did you say he had?
Hopefully your sick bay is all cleared up and Dad can get back to his normal schedule too.

Take Care My Friends
I'll yack at cha later.
Betty

ps; Harley has been talkin to me daily over on her thread in introductions if any of you want to say Hello to her.

Hi there Ms. Betty,

Melissa is really very happy to see her friends again ... and I'm happy to see her getting back into her normal routine ... we've gotten much closer BUT I'm a little sad that it took her staying home sick to get to that point with her.

You're right, friends are really important to girls her age AND she is really tired this evening ... and yes, mom and mr. mom are really happy.

Mr. Chappy has bounced back to his old self ... down from 3 meds to just one and he's back to eating his regular meals again, stopped convulsing, stopped vomiting and pooping normally again ... sick bay, as you say, is almost cleared up and I'll be able to return to MY Daily Grind again soon.

As far as the next video chat for the group goes, maybe we can schedule around your ability to borrow your mom's high-speed connection??? ... I'm home day and night (most of the time).

Please take it slow,

Mark

Mark - this is very fascinating , to say the least .. this is just the tip of the iceberg though ..

I remember writing a post here somewhere , that the mountains and snowcaps , glaciers are as tainted as the water .. my friend, we do what we can to survive , not unlike our ancestors .. we are fighting unseen , with unkown variants daily ..

Why do you think there are so many varieties of cancers today, MS has almost tripled worldwide, heart disease, diabetes, we are quietly doing ourselves in ...

the government knows these hazards exist, and do nothing .. where do you go ? No where is there a "pure" land, pure water, pure prinicples ...

I can remember realizing this as teen .. that what we do to the air, atmosphere (ozone) , water , etc .. was going to be our downfall, long ago .. and panic is a great smoke screen for another way the governing nations can hide behind their spending ..

You look at Russia , they have no land that is not toxic , the food is brought in, the land there is dying , mountainous regions are being polluted from the holes we keep puncturing into the protective layer , now everyone is saying to think "green" , it's too late .. they have been saying it for years .. they had the designs for fuel efficient cars long ago .. the middle of the gulf , between Mexico and Florida has a huge "dead" area , where the government dumped usless batteries from military units , they thought nothing of it .. now nothing is alive there, and it may be growing , just like the ozone ..

Do you think they are going to waste money on us ? Never gonna happen, it is something that "the bean counters" are waiting for .. how many people will die or lives destroyed is already insurmountable ..

Our only defense is to be more cautious ? How much more cautious can we be ? How much more do "we" have to give before we can live as our fonding fathers wanted ?

They wiegh the losses , as in all wars , to what "They" gain, not we , not our freedom or happiness .. this is a war that had already begun when the "scientists" invented or created WMD's .. long ago .. I am not a paranoid person, this is only my stance and has been for quite a number of years .. but what do you do ..

You get up , kiss your family, pray faithfully and do your best to enjoy the day .. the time , the weather, the sun, the moon , your wife, your life ... if by chance you get a chance to aid someone in need , you do it .. and pray that if one day we get control , and it would have to be worldwide .. then maybe we have a chance .. blaming "drugs" is the new thing today , just as obesity is now a disease , so we just accept it, alcholism is predetermined disease and so we accept it .. I don't .. I don't buy the tactics .. this was a situation that they already knew, but don't become concerned as if the water doesn't kill , something will ..

I do appraiate it that you are making headway with your life, I wouldn't worry too much about this , as they have been dumping only God knows what in our lakes , seas and oceans for decades .. isn't Staten Island actually a dumpsite that was turned into an island and sold to people that it was safe ? or Loveland/lovelace ?, with all it's toxic waste , or Long Island where cancer is outta control because of that big company, can't think of the name , but I know that they have been trying too get it shut down ...

The Baldwins, are heading that cause because their Mom had cancer and found clusters of rare and normal forms of cancer ..

We have that in the Los Alamos area , the land is reservation, but the government is determined to continue to destroy it and the surrounding beauty that is left .. the people ? That they leave to the bean counters ..

I could go on and on and it doesn't make it go away , remember the song by Neil Young , "The damage done" , "The Needle and the damage done" ? It has some meaning to addicts, but to me it now represents the earth and the needle is the governments and lobbyists .. the damage done ..

You and I will long be gone before these things have any effect on us (or already effected), I pray for the young ones, I pray for my neices and nephews who have emotional issues at such a yound age .. and the effects all this is having on them and their immune systems .. but life will go on .. and we have no real control over these matters .. all we can do is write to our legislators, who in turn vow to represent the will of the people, yeah, right ....

I am sorry if I sound harsh, but people look to who to blame ? Well, it is not us the sheep .. it is "we the people" ... those that have the power to lobby for all these new regulations that effect us, the sheep .. but not we the people ... yet they continue to do the wrong thing .. and I laugh, as I cry when you think about it, because they leave no future for their "own" , so what you do does come back and bite you in the butt , we just will be viewing from another plane .. or level .. a

Greetings All,
Hope you've had a decent Monday. Finally started to come
back to "normal" on my pain scale, and recovered from the
walk.
Betty, I don't plan things much anymore either cause up
until it's time to go I never know. I hate to plan something
and then not follow through. Like you it irritates me to
no end, so I don't plan much.
mark & adrian, I think we are just begining to learn whats
in the land/water/air etc. There's A LOT of cancers in my
little corner of Ky. The funny part about it is up until
about 10 years ago most folks drank well water, just in the
last few years has the "county" water been delivered to folks that live outside the city limits..Makes me wonder.
I do wonder what it will be like when my kids ge to by my age. There's not a lot we can do, try to be aware and
care full as we can. I think society as a whole is on a
down hill slide, more and more weird stuff evry day.
I do take into account the media makes a story out of
evrything. i read about a lot of stuff that never makes it to the headlines.
Just some thoughts.
I'm glad melissa in on the mend and returning to her "life" and chappy is returning to normal.
Good night all
chuck

Good Morning,

Happy Tuesday!

Here's a link to what various astronauts said about our planet when looking at Earth from space (with some pictures).

What the Astronauts Saw From Space

Some comments are very optimistic and some are not BUT it does speak to the issue re: the future of humans on Earth.

I'll check back in later,

Hi Cherie,

I'm sorry about you being back to square one (so to speak) ... I hope that I have better luck with my visit to the back surgeon next week ... I've been getting a lot of BT pain in my back and I'd hate to go back to taking a very stong opioid on a regular basis ... please keep coming back.
