Hey all .. word is everyhing is good with mom, she should be going home around 11 am, my bro stays til Sunday, so she will ave him there .. all her friends were calling and I believe she will be well taken care of .. she has some really great friends ..

Betty, Mark asked me about dial and web cams , I do believe they do acutally work , don't see any reason why they wouldn't .. before DSL and Cable and all, all we had was dial-up , remember ?

So if we had webcams then , I am almost certain you can get them these days and they would function just as well ..

And chuck, I see you found your equipment , the webcam that is .. giggle .. as on the PC I saw you tried to get me, I forget to put a busy signal there , we will have to pick a time and day and try it out, or you can with Mark .. he is really good at it .. we had another "conference" call and I got to meet Chappy .. ao now I met Chappy and Audrey , next possibly Melissa ?

It really is cool , well, gotta run .. making din din and gotta have the "dreaded" cigarette .. argh .. after I get settle in Florida , that will be my nest major overhaul .. giggle .. so I will talk to you all soon .. luv ya's .. peace

Hi All,
Hope all of you are having a low pain
evening, the meds are keeping me functional
which is good.
Waiting for the big winter storm to arrive
it's started with some freezing rain..
Found my web cam as Adrian alluded to, seems
to work ok. we'll try it out on sunday.
Betty, they'll work over dial up with the
usual performance issues.
Gonna watch House and check back.
Chuck

Happy Saturday All,

it's too warm over by me (42 o F) to get any snow or ice like Chuck did ... I'm just getting soaked with a "flood warning."

This weather thing reminds me of what happened recently to the weather in the UK ... I was reading blog entries from different people in England (not even from Scotland or Wales) on the international version of "daily grind" (called "Smalltalk") and some were getting snow, some were getting just rain, etc. ... I guess things aren't that much different over here (on the other side of the pond) ... LOL

Melissa is sleeping with her Teddy bear ... (if I'm lucky enough to take a pic, I'll post it on spaces, or I'll try to email it).

My dog, "Chappie" is on the mend and he's taking his med's and eating again ... so, I'm feeling good about that.

Audrey and I are off to therapy again for our weekly visit.

Well, time for me to roll.

I'll check back in later,

Mark Smiler

Good Mornin pain friends

Well, it's another day here in the Pac NW. Slightly cloudy, but the Mr. sun is trying to come out. Hope he makes it!

Well, one day & night alone has gone by, now I just have one more to go through and then Rod will be home tomorrow by noon. I think the dogs are all quite bored with me, but we all five snuggled in our king size bed last night and were very comfortable. The Yorkie had such a comfi spot on Rods pillow, that he refused to get up, so I had to carry him to the door to do his buisness. LOL

Yesterday I got a few house chores done and at least got one knick knack shelf torn down, washed everything and put back together again, cleaned a corner by the phone out and did a couple more chores. Last night ran to mom's and was on highspeed for a very short time, but forgot I was not plugged in and battery died. My brother was the one that got me on and I did not remember his instructions as I had thought I did and was not able to regain a connection. that was abit aggravating, so I came home and after finding my webcams driver's cd, I set up my webcam to work on my lappy too. So Maybe today I will get brave and send you guys a video just to say Hello, It's working.

I don't know how well my cam will work with dial up, when I tried it before with my son, it was really slow, delayed, etc. But I could hear him just fine. So If mine is too slow, at least I may be able to listen in on tomorrows chat and see all your darling faces. lol
I would plan to go down to moms & visit, but my hubby is coming home tomorrow and I think he'll want me home with him for our Sunday night "Extreme makeover" show. We watch it together every Sunday evening.

Well, I'm going to be home most of the day, I'm meeting my mil & 1 sil in town for dinner tonight, but that won't take long, so I'm really happy bout that. But I'm gonna clean off another shelf and get things dusted. Slow but sure, I hope to get some things cleaned up around here. Pain's been such torture all winter, that Ive not gotten anything done for months.

Adrian; I'm so happy to hear your mom is doing well after her surgery, glad to hear she has good friends to help her too.

Chuck; I hope you are able to get your pain down and your leg cramps have subsided. I hate the leg cramps & trouble's. I'm having trouble with my limbs all falling asleep when I' am trying to sleep. Hoping for warmer temps.

Mark; I really liked my picture of sweet melissa. She looked like an angel. I can see you sneaking in the doorway to her room and looking at your little girl peacefully sleeping. When I lived at home, my dad opened my bedroom door every night on his way to bed and would say a couple things like a prayer and shut my door and go to bed. Your picture made me think about that time. Gosh I miss my pop. I bet your a great dad.

Well, I better stop talking before you guys say hey, not so long. I've not had much talking the past couple days, so I guess I'm rampling.

Hugs
Betty

Hi all - well it's been a long day .. very cold & gray all day .. but stayed warm .. had a low pain day, but a bit of a migraine .. think it is too much salt .. not sure ..

Have heard from Mark , and apparently we are going to try a group "live" chat .. sounds like fun .. but I cannot remember tonite or Sunday ?

My stupid memory alludes me this late at nite .. lol .. had dinner and feel full, made a piece of marinated meat with bread crumbs and sauteed red onions .. mmmm .. over plain white rice .. hit the spot ..

Hope everyone is okay ? I hear Ohio and Kentucky are getting that nasty weather we had a few days ago .. I know it was tornadoes and thunderstorms down in fl and Tenn. , and the east coast was not too hot either .. will it ever end .. giggle ..

So, I told Mark, I received a gift card form Dell, and I went on the site and bought a logitech webcam for my PC .. it works with the XP service , hoping to have it in a few days , like Monday ?

It should be easy to hook up and am hoping it works as well as the one on the laptop .. this way I can see you all here on the PC ..

Anyway, hope you all are doing okay today , and will "see" you soon .. giggle ... adrian

greetings All,
Been a long day here, made a trip out to the
grocery and got my hips and knees flared up.
I guess it might have been the 26 degree temp,
who knows. Night meds brought it down some, hope fully enough to sleep a little.
Adrian, my webcam is a logitech also. It was
purchased for my ps3 plugged it in and had to download a driver and change a coupple lines in the inf file and away we go. Looks cool actually. Glad your mom is doing good.
Betty, i got a few chores down today too, before my trip out into the frozen streets of southern ky LOL. It's quite usual for us.
Anyway, thought I'd stop in for minute before I hit the rack.
Good Night All....
Chuck

ps mark does Sweet melissa know of the "pic"?

Happy Sunday All,

I woke up too early today ... 4:00 AM Eastern (with the clock already re-set).

Our group chat is set for 9:00 pm Eastern Time tonight ... which is 7:00 PM for Adrian and 6:00 PM for Betty (Chuck, I think that this is 9:00 PM for you too, since I think that you're on Eastern time) ... I also think that if we start out as usual, as if we were just typing and then once the group is together, we can click on the menu that shows “start webcam” (or something like that), we can inter-connect and do a dual chat that would include typing (and video conferencing for those of us with that have that capability) ... BUT, maybe there's a better way??? ... This will be a new experience for me and I’m not 100% sure of what is the best way to get the four of us connected. However, between the collective knowledge of all of us, I'm sure that we'll be able to accomplish this next great leap forward into cyber support for each other within our Chronic Pain Support Group. See and talk to you all at 9:00 PM eastern time tonight.

I hope that we all have a great lo-no pain day,

Mark Smiler

Hi Chuck,

I forgot to answer your question re: Sweet Melissa ... No, she has no idea about me sending the picture of her ... she'll kill me BUT i could not resist sharing the "Kodak moment" with our group. She'll probably freak out if she knows what I did.

Those Teddy bears can do wonders for insomniacs ... maybe, I need one ... LOL ... Mark

Good morning all,
I got to sleep in til 7am today, thats about
my best time I guess. Woke to 16 degrees so it's
a little nippy here this am, we're supposed to get
to 40 and sunny today. That'll be great.
9 is cool for me. I guess the thing will be having
multiple video streamsat the same time.
Should be fun!
Chuck

Hello Guys

Well, it's Sunday afternoon, it's been a really nice weekend here in booniville Washington state. It's a whole 62* and sunshine. My husband got home from his trip and is acting like he really missed me, so I'm probaly not going to make the chat tonight. It wouldn't matter, but after he's been gone all weekend, I think that it would hurt his feelings if I did not have dinner with him and then snuggle to watch tv too. So I will have to wait this one out and join you next week or maybe later in the week.
I had a busy weekend and I really got some stuff done, so I'm feeling great about that, but I'm also paying for the activity this afternoon and not feeling very well with higher than normal pain levels too. So I better just relax and hope this is a short set back in flare and does not turn into a full blown Fibro Flare that I'm getting the pain in my neck, upperspine, chest, etc. Earlier today I thought by the time I got through with taking a couple doses of meds, that I'd be feeling better, but when the pain comes up in my neck, shoulders, & chest, that's the FM stuff coming on and I'm a little worried. I have things to do this week and don't want to take time down for a fibro flare.
Earlier today, Mark was so kind to help me with my webcam and I got to see him and kind of talk to him in person, it was really nice to talk to a face, I loved his accent too. I hope to figure my cam out a bit better and be able to join you all next weekend. I also think that I'll go down to my moms and use a wireless connection, so it will work better.

I hope you all have a nice visit tonight and I also hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I wish you all had the nice weather that we have right now. It feels like spring and I hope we just continue on with this weather, as I think I would just cry if I saw one more white flake come from our skye.

Take Care Friends
Hugs for all
Betty

PS; Chuck, sssshhhhhhh, can't tell sweet melissa we saw her sleeping.. Since she's a teen, she would probably be horrified we saw her without her hair done & looking all hot. You know how young ladies are. We don't want her to get all mad at her daddy, after he's spent the last week or longer taking care of her.
It was darling though Wink

Hi Gang,

I'm here at 9:30 PM eastern time (Sunday night) and no one else has showed up yet for our first live webcam chat Frowner

I'll keep messenger on in case anyone shows up ... I already know that Betty won't be here tonight BUT I'm not sure why Adrian and Chuck are not showing up.

Oh well, maybe I have the wrong info for when we were gonna do this???

Talk to you all later on then,

Mark Frowner

Good morning and a HUGE apology about the live chat .. By the time I first wrote telling how much I was looking forward to last night I fell ill .. I should have sent a message .. but I pretty much was like Chuck all day , only got up when I had to and just to take care of the dogs .. I am not muchh better today , but I don't know what is wrong either ...

I am not one for belyaching too much , but one of those "flare-ups" in a part of me that had me off my feet ..

Hope you are not too upset about it , but I am reading the posts and see where Mark was the only one on board .. sorry Mark .. and sorry Chuck, hope you will feel better today, and Betty I loved your video you sent, it was perfect ..

Well, I am going to rest , and see what happens, I just hope it isn't a bug .. I think it may be .. talk with you all at some point today .. ugh , it is a terrible feeling when you do not know how to treat ... adrian
