Here we are beginning a new month here at the Grind. I hope you all find this fast, as I'm sure you've already posted this am. I was going to do it last night before bed, but you know how it is, the T&L begain and I ran around shutting down puters and pulling out cords and telephone wires. I don't want a repeat from last years thunder storms, I'd left the desk top on and it fried my modem.
Update on me; It's been the roughest recovery that I've ever experienced with my procedure and boy I hope I don't have to do that again. But I'm finally began feeling better yesterday, still high pain, but more like myself. Today my pain is still working on coming down, so I'm going to take my am easy and then get dressed to head down to Helens house so I can get her some groceries & such. She'll be happy bout that and I'll be thankful to get er done.
Tomorrow is the big holiday and I've been wondering what you all have planned????
I'm hoping to make it to my SIL's house for a all afternoon barBQ with about 5 families & some friends. When it gets dark all the men carry out their fireworks and let off a pretty nice show for everyone, so I really would like to stay long enough to watch it, but we'll see.
I have to go back and read the past week of the DG and find out what you'all have been up too, but then I'll be back here to check in later.
Missed you all Much love & many hugs Betty

Hey Chuck, I don't know if the other guys watch much tv, but since your going to be around the house, thought you might want to take advantage of some of the before, on & after holiday marathons.
today there's a CSI marathon on Spike tv Burn notice marathon on usa
tomorrow there's a Paranormal stare marathon on A&E NCIs Marathon on USA
Just thought I'd mention that. I can't wait for the new GH/Taps shows next week, they are going to be in Europe, so I'm expecting some good evidence.
A; Honey you work so hard and are such a giving person. I really hope that things go into a smooth as planned stage and your able to get settled. In the mean time, catch some son if your able, I read an article on the pain relieving properties in UV rays. Hopefully your meds don't cause any problems with the sun.
Mark; I hope your pain comes down this am, I really hate days that I'm taking BT before noon, but do what you gotta to get comfortable. I actually started on some ibuprofen for my recent post procedure pain and they really helped, but my stomach is all stirred up, so I'll have to take it easy on those.
Thank you all for your loving words & concerns, I don't know what I'd do with out ya.
Hugs Betty

I've been meaning to share this with you guys to let you up on some current pain news.
Last week my WA state pain people joined with the Pain Relief network and filed a suit against the state of WA for a law they past last year that really could of messed me up, but thank goodness I was already on my dosage of meds and another thank goodness is that my pain doc is in oregon. You may wonder why a law suit in WA state would matter to you, but the wa state opiate rx guidelines are being used by docs & pharmacy's all over the nation and doctors are actually prescribing according to these guidelines.
Here is the article on this suite, just thought some may be interested.
I hope that you're all doin' fine. My early morning pain went away.
Betty, I'm not sure of whether or not you know this but Motrin and Tylenol, as well as all generic equivalents, are potentially more harmful to the human body than opioids ... there are numerous cases to support this and there's numerous cases to support that Motrin and Tylenol are abused more often than opioids.
As I once told you by email, the State of Maryland's Board of Medicine has been proactive in supporting those doctors who prescribe opioids for all types of daily chronic pain, including migraines.
I wanted to stop by before I ran in and jumped in the sac.
My day went well, but as usual, my little lady is the messiest little gal I've ever seen, so I just cannot stand her to be in her home and not have it cleaned up. My Bad! I still have my last dose of meds to take, so I think I'll be find. I bought a new fancy cane today and I really like it much better than my other two. Never thought I'd get all excited bout a crazy cane. lol
Thanks A, I'm glad your safely settled in for atleast a few days. I'll be holding you close in prayer & remember your intentions in my rosary in a few minutes. I'll take your suggestion to heart and think I already did. My contribution to the barBQ is a pre cut Veggie tray for the deli and a bag of chips with a jar of salsa. giggle. Don't have to be there till 3pm tomorrow, so it won't be too long or too late, they normally have people come around noon and stay till 9 or 10pm and that would be way too long of a day.
Hey M; Hope all is well and I understand and agree about the otc abuse of pain relievers. I think that I may of been one of those once upon time. I was not really thinking of any state in general, just thought the article was interesting that pain advocates are getting very serious and aggessive about the undertreatment in pain patients in general. I know that you've done fine in your state and I'm really thankful for that, but when I review others and take a look at the nation wide pain patients, I can see that many just like us are not getting treatment and are basically labeled and withheld much needed treatment, to the point of abuse (in my opinion)
A very wonderful holy priest told me a few years ago, that if your suffering in pain whether it be physical or mental and needing help with it. The best thing you can do is to reach out and try to help others who are suffering too. So my goal is to find my nitch in becoming a pain advocate and trying to make sure others are having their pain treated, and they are treated with respect & dignity while they are searching to find help too.
Night friends & Happy 4th of July! its after midnight, so I'm just very early. hehe Hugs & love Betty

Happy 4th all, We're off to a rainy start here in southern ky, kinda cool and nice though. My bro is coming over and we'll be cooking on the grill later, even if it rains.. Mark, the info on the otc meds isn't really too surprising. When I went to the doc with my back I was taking 3200 mgs a day of ibuprofen(motrin) just to be able to work. I quit before and damage was done according to blood work but, when ya need releif. Adrian, I agree with you on Independence. We should celebrate it. Hope all goes well. sounds like mom is doin good. Don't worry about bringin us down we'll just get right back up. Betty, hope you enjoy the cook out. Sounds like you've turned the corner on recovery form the treatment. Have a good holiday all. Chuck
It turned out to be a fantastic day for us here. When I woke up, my pain was only about a 4. So I got my coffee going and decided my poodle needed a bath & hair cut before she could go to the party. (been wanting to do this for two weeks) so I got her all cleaned up, toenails painted and inher niciest t shirt and then I headed in to get me ready. I began my bath and then remembered that I forgot to call Helen back, so I dialed the phone quickly and spaced out walked to the kitchen and then while I was talking to her, decided I'd get the dogs all fed. By the time I hung up the phone I had forgotten about starting my bath water and when I finally remembered, I gasped for air and ran for the bed room, well not really ran, but I hurried giggle. OH BOY LOL what a freaken mess. I am such a dodo head I must praise God that my husband is such a patient man with me. All I could think about afterwards was how funny it is when you've spent the past 5 years trying to control and clean up your vocabulary and how easy it goes back to trash mouth when your hit with a stunt like this. LOL "If not for the grace of God, there goes I!" St Ignasius Giggle!
Well, I made it to my sil's and there were alot of people there, tons of geat food, salads galor and just a ton of stuff I really love to eat and It was really nice. I've not eaten much in the past week and I finally was able to get my tummy full without feeling sick and it just felt great. I spent the afternoo moving around, sitting for a bit, then walking, standing, etc. I just really cannot sit that long in a hard plastic patio chair, so I just kept moving & changing positions and I think this trick worked pretty well. My pain was high by the time I got home, but I took my night meds and they did the trick. So all went well and I got to enjoy a day out.
I hope you all had a nice day too, whether it was spent with family or resting, just as long as you enjoyed it.
Mark; If finally occured to me what you meant when you mentioned the abuse of the otc pain meds, but not to worry, I don't think I fully explained it in my other post, but I was only supposed to take the additional advit for three days and if it was not better, then go into my primary care. I'm better and I'm still going in to primary care on Tuesday though. I just thought about what I had said and what you were meaning about the addition of ibuprofen to ones medication plan and you may of thought they told me to add advil from now on to my meds.
It's really nice to be feeling better. Last week I felt like dying and this week I'm feeling like taking my pack for some long walks. So amazing how fast our pain condition can change so quickly. personally drives me crazy, but when It's really bad I have to keep telling myself, that this will pass and I'll be better soon. It's just hard to have to basically go to bed for a week. I find it so distressing. This is one part of having this chronic pain illness thatI don't think any regular people can even fathom what it's like to loose weeks at a time and loose the ability to even move around your own home.
Well, I better get to bed, it's 1:30am, I just wanted to get checked in today, Matt was on the puter all morning so I did not have time before I left.
Hugs, I hope & pray your all sleeping sound and all the bangs, booms & crackling are all done at your place. Talk to you tomorrow Betty

Good morning all - today is meeting day , where we should get some 'real" numbers .. we are also going down the road to look at the less expensive places .. pray she likes 'em ..
I am at an 8 this a.m. and stif as a board .. giggle .. got too much rest .. nah ... giggle ...
This evening is the big race in Daytona , Go Tony ! and I already told mom we are watching ... tired of the "home" shows , and can see why she buys all the junk she does ..
Tired to explain packing procdires and got into a fight .. argh .. she is thick .. and I am seeing my space swindle .. this is why I ant a place SHE can afford on her own ..
The only bro still aiding , monetarily , is Yianni .. so I have a few calls to make on Monday .. repairs, packing and moving, and cleaning ...
It has occured to me that I have taken oon a huge project , and just keep praying she would change , but that has not happened in all my years so far , and I just cannot understand why ...
So , we move on ... I am thinking now of just getting my own space or not moving .. it would just be easier ..
Anyway, Betty , you are funny, and I have a potty mouth pretty much 80% of each day , but God forgives me, He understands that it is just a way to speak, not what is in my heart , as He knows I am suffering ...
Lol .. but glad o know I am not alone ...
Will update later on ... Adrian

it's 5:30 PM for me and I feel tired plus I have a migraine that I can't seem to lose ... guess it's time again for a BT med (which I don't enjoy taking BUT I've gotta do what I've gotta do) ... I'm looking forward to getting my epidural shot this coming Monday, since I should get about 2 weeks of relief from my pain (by getting the shot).
It's after 5pm and I'm finally getting here and getting my post in for today.
As I'm sure everyone could of guessed, my pain is high and I'm just taking it easy today. I'm not in bed, so it's tolerable and I'm just happy to be up, bathed and dressed in clean lounge wear. I've spent my day working on my puter and continuing to change passwords, turning info in to live to let them know what troubles I've found. When I got home last night I had received an email from the management at live (supposedly) wanting me to clarify if it was me who sent them a request of a forgotten password and someone was trying to change my password. HMMMMMMMM this is not good, but I'm staying on top of this crap. I contacted the live support team and this very kind gentleman is helping me to fix this and make it difficult for anyone to get to me like this again. I believe that this problem is due to a past memeber, who is no longer around and has for some reason targetted me with their rage. But if you want to know more, you can contact me privately and I'll explain better.
Has any of you received links on messenger that appear to be from me and you get them once you sign in????? I'm curious, as I've received them from what appears to be from you guys and I thought they were strange.
I had such a lovely time yesterday, todays pain & fatigue just seem worth it, so I'm not complaining too bad. hehe
A; I know it would really be tough to move in with mom, especially after you've been so independant and had the run of your own house. I cannot imagine having to go back to calling times for your own tv viewing, although with Matt home I do have to call my programs on occaision, but still have the bed room or other living room that I can watch what I want any time. As I try and recall, your mission was to help mom get in better control with finances and help to break her home shopping spending spree's too, ever consider setting up moms tv with a password & blocking home shopping channels???. I know those darn channels can be very addicting & hard to break the habit. It Does sound like a tough mission and know that I can see you & mom really butting your heads on this stuff. I pray she can listen to you and at least try to cooperate. Your a brave soul honey.
Mark; hope your day yesterday was nice and I really hope your migrain & extra pain will die down some. Can't wait till you get your injection on Monday either. I know how nice it is when you can get some extra relief. Thank goodness we are one of the fortunate ones who does have help from BT meds. I don't know what I would do with out my own. Rest friend!
Just having a migrain last week myself (which is rare) I'm really feeling a great deal of sympathy for those who suffer headaches daily or often. Talk about major misery.
Chuck I hope your doing alright today and did not over do your self yesterday. I like the new pics of Heidi, she's sure growing up.
It's cooled down here today and only holding around 66* w/ a little rain storm this am, just enough to make the grass & everything all wet, but it's warm enough to open my windows and get to hear the birds & noises from out side, even though some of those noises were coming from Rods cuss words at working on the siding & trim he's putting on the front of the house. He does not like this type of work and especially when he's never even watched someone do it. My brother comes up and teaches him his next step and then when Rod gets that part done, comes up and teaces him the next & on & on. I think it's really frustrating for Rod and he's getting tired of it. My brother is supposed to come up tomorrow and work on it with him, so I hope he stays & works so Rod can see some progress.
I'll check in later, much love & many hugs Betty

Good Lords' day to you all .. Betty, I had the same request for my pasword from someone here on comcast and immediately sent it as spam .. never heard anything though .. haven't been on live in a bit , but probably should look ...
I spoke with my brother Jon, and he and the dogs are doing rather well .. as he spens most of the days with them .. he is saying he may not give me back my Maxxie though .. giggle .. cuddlebug he is ...
John will be coming down to help mom pack .. he may be here as soon as the 15th of July , and stay until the 25th .. he feels it will save on packers and movers ..
I will fly home a day or two in advance , and get a break and see my puppies .. and return when he gets back , for the closing .. all seems to be going well, and I fought hard for an extra point off the commission due the realtors , shady people, lon story .. but that is an additional $3850 for my mom ...
John says to proceed with this home, and not to worry, he even told me to go to church today, so I am .. I need to get centered and be in God's house ..
I did get to see the last 39 laps of the race .. yowza ! and was happy .. Kyle Busch won , and he is climbing the list of apparent winners this year ... my Tony (Stweart) has left the Ruasch team and will have his own , Office Depot will be his sponsor , and I am excited about that ...
I will check in with you all again later on after Church .. as I am enjoying the solitude of the early morning watching and listening Gods creations and creatures that surround me ..
The cooing of the doves, the sqwauking of the cranes and the whistling of the birds .. all bring me joy and peace ...
Love you guys .. A
