so this is a long shot, but I am on medical (medicaid of california) and SSI and im trying to get into a program that treats chronic pain extensively. I have 2 friends that got lucky enough to get into a 5-day a week program and it has completely changed their lives to help them cope with the pain. i have had no such luck since i am too young to get on medicare.

the county hospital i go to offers a pain program but its one day a week and ive waited over 6 months now and still cant get in. based on what that hospital offers i highly doubt it will help much either. any ideas or suggestions? i have no money and im $20k+ in debt so i dont know what to do Frowner
thanks all,
tom

Hello Tom

It's nice to meet you and by the sounds of your situation, you must be having a very rough time of it. Frowner

Do you see any doctor at this time for your pain? Is he treating you for pain?

I don't know alot about CA Medicaid, but I would think if you have a referral and meet the criteria of the system, you should be able to get into some type of pain mgt program?

If you've not done so already, then I would check into how you go about getting a referral and then go from there.

I sincerely wish I had some better advice, but don't really know a great deal of your personal situation, so it's hard to suggest more options.

If your looking for an online support group with kind & understanding individuals, then your welcome to join us down in the "Off Topic" area at the daily grind and we would love to help you any way we can.

Take Care of yourself and hope to see you around more.
Aloha
Betty

hi betty,
Thanks for the reply. One way I could use some help is if you know a chronic pain forum that is more active...it seems replies take a very long time here simply b/c there just aren't enough people on this one.

but anyway I posted in the diagnosis section more information on my personal situation...CTS,TTS,PTSD, and undiagnosed Fibro. I have a lot of symptoms of the later but haven't had a clear diagnosis of what it is yet (my doctors have been something less than helpful since I'm on medi-cal).

*sigh* not much else to elaborate on that's worthwhile I think. Just going to keep at it..
