Several years ago I had to have a biopsy done. I was in a hospital mammography unit that was new to me and the nurse kept telling me over and over to keep waiting.
Finally, summoned up the courage to get dressed and tell the nurse I was going back to work. I asked her to give the results to my doctor and he would talk with me (which is the way it is supposed to be done).
What gave me the courage to stand up for myself was a wonderful refrain from a hymn my granddad taught me. It goes "...and He walks with me, and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own..." I knew God was with me and knew granddad had sent the song to me.
It's important to draw on what ever comforts in our lives. There was atypical hyperplasia in the biopsy. So far, I've been OK.
In my family there are six women who have had breast cancer. Two deaths.
