I am sure there are some who are on Abilify and/or Trileptal. Could I get some pros and cons from people who are on either or both? I just was prescribed Abilify and I've heard of Trileptal and I am a bit anxious about both. I've not taken the Abilify yet though I was supposed to. So, any comments good or bad will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Marie,

I don't have an answer to your question, but I am going to my bipolar support group meeting tomorrow night, and I will ask about Abilify and Trileptal and report back to you. In the meantime, I hope you get some answers here.

I found this link to info on trileptal, though it seems to relate to epilepsy, not bipolar: trileptal drug info. Here's one on Abilify: Abilify drug info.

I'll let you know what I found out from my meeting tomorrow night.

Hi again, Marie,

No one in my support group had taken Abilify or knew anything about it, but one person was taking Trileptal with good results. Sorry I don't have any more info for you.

Hi Marie,
I did try Abilify for a while, but I felt too "doped up".

I have heard of many who feel it works wonders.

Remember that we are all wired differently and what works for one may not work for another, and vice versa.

Good Luck.

I am considering Abilify for my next med round. Gotta change again. I am also curious about it. When you say "doped up" were you unable to function properly? Were you lethargic? This is the last thing I need, But I have to find something better for my manic times. I guess I could give it a shot. Ive also heard good things about it. I jsut like to hear what others think first hand.
