I was diagnosed with manic depression whenever I turned 13 years old. I never knew that it meant that I was bipolar. I took many medications for the depression that I felt, but nothing ever seemed to help. Not only did I have mood swings, but I seem to be constantly angry.. Recently I saw an actual doctor who diagnosed me with bipolar disorder. I am not on Lamictal (for 8 days now) and it seems as though I already see a change in myself. Is it all in my head? Did anyone else see this sort of change in their mood swings this early into treatment? My major thing was anger, anxiety, and depression. I have noticed I am almost never depressed, I can control my anger much more, and I happen to be much perkier than I have been in years. Is this normal? Does it go away? Is it all in my head? I need answers from someone who has dealt with this longer than I have.
Please, anyone... help me understand what is going on.
