my husband is worse than I've ever seen him. He's in alot of legal trouble for a fight he doesn't even remember. He does the oppisite of everything me or his lawyer tell him because he thinks we might be on "their" side. I don't think hie lawyer understands that my husband is really sick. He's going to end up in jail. I know he will get himself killed there. I don't know what to do to try to save him.

You might need to get your husband to seek prof. help from a psychiatrist as well as a psychologist. My husband is bipolar and he has problems with what I say sometimes. Its not his fault, its just the way things appear to someone that is sick. A therapist will help show him the truth and help him understand you a little more. I would also sit down with the lawyer and have a talk with him about the disorder and your husband by yourself. It may also help with your case.

I too find myself in a similar situation. My husband has had 2 psychotic episodes within the past year as a result of bipolar mania. He is in major legal trouble also. The best money we ever spent was on an excellent lawyer, but it has kept him out of jail and we know that being there would be the worst. Meds are slowly working and encouragement is not easy to give, i always feel that i don't have the right words and that they never provide comfort. Just know that I know what this feels like.
