Dd is 18 and just started Lamictal yesterday. She takes 25 mg. once a day right now. She is very nauseous and vomiting intermittently. I know these are side effects but do they last or will they go away as her body adjusts to the meds?
Hi Miss Kitty I did have a problem with throwing up at the beginning of my Lamictal. I had to make sure and eat with it especially when I first started taking it. After time I have adjusted and think it is a wonderful medicine. Hope this helps. Also if eating doesn't help and the sick feeling doesn't get better I'd call the doctor. Erin

She is much better, thank you. We switched her to taking it at bedtime. She is starting to get night sweats the last couple of nights. But she says that is better than throwing up.
Been a long time since I've been here. Lamictal has been a God send! After she reached full dosage at 100mg. per day she says she feels like her old self. We haven't seen the tantrums, the defiance, or the taking off. She has done well in school and will graduate next weekend. I must say that for her, this medicine works wonders.
I'm glad to hear that she is doing better. Keep in mind that the medicine may still need to be adjusted over time. Good luck and I hope you guys continue to do well.
