This is my first post of which I have great concern.
Two years ago I weighed 394 pounds. Now, in 2006, I weigh 198-200 pounds. My question is: When you lose that amount of weight, should the dosage of your medications be adjusted to the new weight? Since I am lighter, does that mean my dosage decreases or stays the same? Anyone know?
Thanks, Leanna

Some medication dosages and the way the body processes the med(s) are weight based. If that is the case with yours you will probably need some adjusting. Congratulations, by the way, on the weight loss - that is quite a feat!
You may seriously want to speak with your dr. about your concern. He/she will know if your meds are weight based or not.
Thnak you for replying. I apologize for not replying sooner but I went through a difficult time concerning a personal problem.
I will speak with my dr. at my next visit in two weeks. It has concerned me because I keep dropping in pounds but the dosage is still high. I had drug-induced hepatitis, caused by a medication becoming toxic in my body; thus effecting my liver. I do not want to go through that again. Truly debilitating, whether drug-induced or otherwise.
Thank you. It has been difficult to lose all that weight. I have reached a weight my body feels comfortable with, and it is a good weight to be.
Take care and Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone on the boards!
