Can anyone recommend a good psychiatrist and/or therapist who really knows their stuff about bipolar disorder and it's associated symptoms? My daughter has been shuffled around for almost two years by psychiatrists who move their practice, stop seeing outpatients, or are not familiar with treating patients with bipolar disorder. We're looking for someone in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. My daughter suffers from bipolar disorder as well as clinical depression and anxiety disorder. Her bipolar disorder exhibits in severe anger as well as crippling depression. We need help. She is a 31 year old single mother of 1 child. She is currently unable to work and is on short term disability. Can someone give us a recommendation?
Gloria, I don't know if your daughter is still looking for a Pdoc or not... I'm in Racine! I would recomment Dr. Donald Jacobson 262-598-9030. This is a brilliant psychiatrist. He is an expert in more areas than bipolar and depression. He knows the brain and is excellent with chemicals that influence the brain (drugs). I just can't say enough good things about him. During an appointment it's like there is no place he'd rather be, he focuses on the patient. I've been with him for over 20 years, and we've been through a lot. Hope this still helps.
