My son has bi-polar. He has been diagnosed for several years. He now is willing to get help. Can someone please tell me of a hospital or a place to where he can go and get help? I need to know of a place in Indiana.
It's wonderful that your son is ready to get help. That's a real positive step. Is there a mental health center in your area? That's a good place to start. Otherwise, look in your local phone book for psychiatrists. Your son will need one to diagnose and prescribe medication, but he will also benefit from therapy, so he may need to see a therapist as well.
If you need recommendations, a local support group should be helpful. You can go with your son and ask the people there who they have found to be helpful to them. Check out support groups in your area at DBSA Support Group Finder. Attending a support group regularly should also help your son.
