In October, Harper Collins will release my book, "Living Well with Depression and Bipolar Disorder: What Your Doctor Doesn't Tell You ... That You Need to Know."

The book is the first to bring a patient's point of view to complex diagnositic and treatment issues. The book is also the first to look at ALL the issues that are important to us. This includes rethinking bipolar as part of a wider phenomenon that may include other illnesses and behaviors. "Living Well" goes into considerable detail on meds and other mainstream treatments, but also gives equal weight to lifestyle choices, coping, and complementary treatments. Also included: brain science, relationships and sex, spirituality, and personal insights from patients.

"A vast trove of knowledge." Frederick Goodwin MD.

I am John McManamy, one of the "expeert patients" who writes a blog for Bipolar Connection.

"Living Well" is now available as a pre-order from Amazon. For more info, check out my website at www.mcmanweb.com.

John,
I have had your book on preorder with Amazon for a month. I can't wait to read it. Your site has given me such a good resource of knowledge and insight. I especially need help in the relationship part. My 25-year marriage is in desparate trouble. My husband is waiting for me to be "cured" and then is sure everything will go back to "normal". Thanks for your tireless researaching and sharing of information with the rest of us. Dolle
