I want all to know that I was 132lbs in 2002. 2003 135lbs. 2004 started taking seroquel and went to 168lbs by 2004. By 2005 I started having muscle spasims at night right after taking it. My Dr had been upping and upping as I complained I still felt insane. I switched doctors after a suicidal stint and was given a new Dr. They observed the convulsions as I was there a few days and took me off it right away. The convulsions ceased. It could have become permanent had I not stopped the medicine. The muscle spasims resemble a constant flexing of your joints. My jaw would stretch like I was yawning and my neck, knees, ankles, wrists, shoulders, fingers, toes, and hips screamed with activity. My fiance would try to hold me still but nothing stopped it until the med wore off. I took it to help sleep during mania but it only further hindered my sleep and could have caused a lifelong illness with muscle spasims. Please please Please consider this information. My new psych found I had a hormonal problem that hindered my sleep so the seroquel would have never helped. BE CAREFUL!!!! I know take lamictal, concerta, and rozerom. No side effects. My sleep is still not predictable but that is due to my period which explains why it only happens 2 weeks a month. I see a hormonal therapist to cope with that. But please be careful.
