HI, I am very interested in a support group but cannot find any in my area. On-line groups are helpful but I really feel that I wound benefit from a face-to-face group. I live in rural southwestern Minnesota. Any advice on finding a support group or starting one? Thanks, dolle

Hi Dolle,

Please check out the DBSA website where they have a list of support groups by area: DBSA Support Groups. They also have information on starting a support group, in case you don't find one close enough.

Good luck, and let us know how you make out.

Lynne

Dolle - here's another resource that may be able to tell you of support groups in your area:

Thank you Lynne and GJ for your responses. GJ, does the NAMI sponsor support groups? My therapist recently recommended a program called INSIGHT to me. It is 12-week program for women but it would mean about 1 1/2 hour drive and with gas prices. I really am interested in it as it works on self-esteem, working on being positive, etc. I know this may seem like a contradiction but as I am improving and getting meds right I seem to have trouble putting my life back together. Anyway, I did not mean to get so lengthy. I have just been so happy to find this site. I feel safe here. some other sites have been very scary for me. Some sites seem to almost have cliques in them and are not interested in really helping. Thanks again, dolle
