Tomorrow we are seeing the magristrate to try to keep a loved one in the hospital. This is her 7th major episode in 7 years. During this one she was successful in harming herself. She has been in treatment each time, but the longest was 2 weeks in patient, then 2 weeks outpatient. As soon as she leaves treatment, she stops taking medication and doesnt see her doctor. We need to make sure that she stays longer (months??) so that she is in the habit of taking her meds and that she gets the full treatment she needs. We don't think she will survive another episode. It would be really helpful if you could send parts of a successful plea so that we can add some well thought out comments to ours. I know everyone's situation is different, so the generic parts would be very helpful. We have lost much sleep and don't think we can put a really effective speech together. Please help if you can.
