Is there anyone who is currently going through menopause or has been through it that also has Bipolar and can give me some advice? I am pre-menopausal and i understand that menopause can cause mood swings and depression even in women who normally don't have any. i am afraid that the menopause will make my bipolar worse or the bipolar will make the menopause worse.
Greetings! I know exactly what you are talking about. I was diagnosed in 1998 when my husband just up and left me...but now the peri-menopause has kicked in and social phobia has reared its ugly head!! Take care..are you on any meds?
Hi, I just stumbled across this wedsite and I too are starting menopause. I have suffered and I mean suffered from Bipolar all my life but now with the onset of menopause I am really losing it. I am 43 years old and the thought of doing this each month is enough to tip me over. I am off to the doctors this afternoon after a difficult few days. How are you going now??? I am placing a lot of strain on my 3 year relationship and the symptoms of Bipolar worsening during period time is an unbelieveable strain on me. Hope you got some help.
