Having just signed up for this community this morning this is my first post. I've read quite a bit here and am thankful for all of you.
I'm a 55 year old female diagnosed bipolar in 1993 and sober 21 years through the grace of God and AA. I left work in 2000 on disability and have been on Social Security since 2001. I have a few questions:
1) Although I have seen information about stopping the progression, I don't know what the progression actually is or where to find out.
2) Is adult onset unusual? Or is it more likely that I've had the disorder for a longer time and was unaware?
3) This may sound unusual but I'm very serious. From time to time, I feel heat emanating from my stove even though it hasn't been turned on all day. Not even the hood light. And every once in a while I will smell a faint electrical fire and have gone so far as to call the appropriate folks in the building to check the floor when I was still working. This has happened at home as well. Has this happened with any of you?
