MY STORY IS PROBABLY LIKE ANY ONE ELSE'S. I'M 33 YEAR OLD MOTHER OF 2 BOYS ^ MARRIED. HE'S 34. MY KIDS DO NOT BELONG TO HIM. WE BOTH SUFFER FROM THIS ILLNESS, BUT HE'S WORSE THAN ME. I TAKE MEDS. HE DON'Y & WONT. HE'S SO HARD TO LIVE WITH. I LOVE HIM BUT I CAN'T STAND THE WAY HE TREATS ME & TALKS TO ME. WHEN SOME THING GOES WRONG OR HE'S HAVING A BAD DAY, HE BLAMES ME & YELLS AT ME FOR IT. ESPECIALLY WHEN WE FIGHT. HIS FAVORITE WORDS ARE F*C*ING BIT* & CONSTANTLY ACCUSING ME OF CHEATING ON HIM. HOW DOES A PERSON DEAL WITH THIS OR HANDLE THIS? I'VE BEEN DOING THIS WITH HIM FOR 8 YEARS NOW. YOU COULDN'T EVEN IMAGINE HOW TIRED I AM OF THIS & HOW OLD IT IS. TIGIE. HUNTINGTONG WV

I know you must feel overwhelmed. It is very difficult to live with bipolar disorder and even more so if others in your family also have the disorder (particularly if they do not accept their condition.) I have lived with bipolar all of my life. My father was bipolar, also an older brother, myself, a nephew, and my daughter. I have probably been bipolar since a teenager but was not officially diagnosed until I was in my late twenties . . . . But even then, did not accept it and seek help for another twenty years. I am now 65-years old and very happy in spite of my illness. I hope you continue to seek help for yourself and encourage your husband to do likewise. I also encourage you to seek a support group. Best of luck to you.
