I'm back on tegretol, coming off of trazodone and upping the celexa after seeing the new psychiatrist last Mon. Here's my question-it's hard to know what's me and what was the bipolar behavior over the past year? Who am I now? I don't have much of a support system; my friends disagree with the physician's diagnosis BUT I am going to do what she says. I am fighting for my life, here.

best thing I can tell you is rate yourself every chance you get. mood chart. try from 1 to 10 ... 1 is like lowest of low and 10 is like manic as hell. 5 is like normal people. rate yourself at least once a day and also make note of what meds you took, cause we all usually forget a med every once ina while. if your mood changes during the day, rate yourself twice, or 3 times or whatever. it gives you some idea of how your swings go, and you have something to show the doc, too. if you want to know what symptoms you are exhibiting, contact DBSA or NAMI and have them send you some pamphlets or pick some up at the drs offc. you can also read up on symptoms online, but remember, it isnt officially a symptom until it has been constant and severe for 2 weeks. And try not to get all "hypochondriac" reading up on symptoms either, its better to look at past behaviors than present, better yet, wait until you have kept that mood chart for a while. good luck.

I'm bpII. This topic came up at a DBSA group meeting recently.
Hard to tell. If it's irrational, it's like the bp effect. Hard for me to answer this. BP is part of me, it affects so many things, not only the big things. That's why we attack it with various things.
