I am having a lot of doubts on what to do with my daughter...she is turning 11 in june and well she was diagnoised with mood disorder nos but was told recently that it is the same as bi polar..the proble I am having is that she was in the hopsital residential for 3 months and she was doing great since her release(end of Dec 08)she has slowly progressed back to the rage episodes mood swings, defiancy. Her therapists think that it might be a good idea to have her back in the hospital for a revamp and see if that will help...I am torn but yet I also have a 6 yr old that has been kicked and hit by her...what do i do?? I feel I have failed her as a mother...
I haven't had to put my son in hospital yet but did call cops on him. It seams someone would come to the house to do interventions or something because evryone suffers. Your not a failure it is hard haveing a child like that. Constant battle, I just keep doing what they tell me to do with mine. My son does the same thing to my older son but he is old enough to go to the neighbors house. So he is out more than in. Just keep fighting for her and loving her, thats all I can do.
My daughter was diagnosed at age 7. Hospital & 2 intensive out-patient tx. At 11 (right before she started her period) she was hospitalized 5 times (every 2 months) Drs told me the mania often increases with this hormone change. She is 18 now. Not been in hospital since 11 but 3 intensive out-pt tx (about every 4 years). After age 12 they put them in adult ward. This is the main reason I chose Out-Pt tx. Have had many in home workers. Most turn out to be a joke and never show up. If you're in crisis they just give you an on-call # and that # tells you to go to the ER. In 11 yers we've had only 1 great worker but these people don't stay long. Most are students working on degrees so move on.
