I am new here. My son is 9, he was diagnosed as bipolar over 3 years ago. He is having a very rough year this year.
He has had to endure a lot of heartache and I have tried working with him on productive ways of dealing with his anger and frustrations but sometimes he is unreachable and it breaks my heart. He's generally a good kid, very smart and very sweet but when he's having his manic moments he can do and say things that are very inappropriate.
I worry about his future and I have noticed that friends and family members are starting to judge him and me a lot.
I am hoping by joining this forum I can have an opportunity to discuss the challenges in raising a bipolar child with other parents experiencing the same things and share advice on dealing with different issues that arise without the judgment that I get from the general community that don't understand what these things are like.
