Bipolar Depression

My 16 year old was diagnosed with bp 2 1/2 years ago.
He currently says he want to drop out of school and if we dont let him he will get expelled. He is becoming more violent especially towards me and I am scared that he will harm me or my other kids (5 and 13). I dont know what to do. We cant afford hospitalization, we do have medical insurance but the cost scares me. He also knows how to work the system and will have everyone eating out of his hand if he is placed in hospital (this has happened before). Part of me just wants him out of my life so things will return to normal and the other part needs to stand by him, he is my son, I love him but dont think that I can have him in my life. I dont want to put my other kids at risk but dont know where to turn.
