I get panic attacks when I speak in public or in any group - sometimes if it's just me and one other person! I take beta-blockers sometimes, but not on a regular basis. But even with them, I still get shaky, hyperventilate, and feel like I'm going to pass out. Any advice?
Thank you!

Hi Lee,

Public speaking is about the scariest thing any of us can do. One thing that helps me is to thoroughly prepare what I am going to say, and to practice. I know it may sound silly to practice what you are going to say if it's only one other person you will be talking to, but you might try it anyway. It might just do the trick.

After that, I'd suggest talking to your doctor to see if there is a better medication that might help.
