Good evening. My mother in law is in a late stage of Alzheimers and has lost control of just about everything. She frequently hallucinates now and tells us some really strange (to us) stories of conversations she has with her mother, who passed away 50 years ago, and her brother who passed away four years ago. We usually just roll with her hallucinations, but today she told us that she refers to the caregivers at her nursing facility as "monsters" and said that of them slapped of of the other residents today. She also told me yesterday that her wrist hurts from where she was thrown down the steps at the facility. My question is whether this is common or if I should investigate it. I don't want to cause any trouble for the facility if this is truly just a hallucination, but I don't want to ignore it if I think that my mother in law is in danger. Any thoughts?
