Acid Reflux

I am 44. I was diagnosed in 04 with papillary thyroid cancer and had my thyroid removed with pre/para trachael lymph nodes. Nuclear radiation. Cancer left. in 06 had 2 small tumors removed. Dr. Steckler saved my life in Medical City, TX. Montgomery Vocal Cord Implant was placed by ENT Dr. Trone in Medical City. Start of discovery of acid reflux coming up to vocal cords. I almost lost all my voice to cancer once, now I'm loosing it to acid reflux. I keep going back and getting scoped and it's acid reflux coming up to the cords. My dad hung up on me this am - no one can tell who I am. I teach for God's sake! I do not smoke/drink but am overweight. Clean on the cancer - had gallbladder taken out earlier this year. Sinus problems, on Nexium for 2 yrs straight, now on Pepcid as well. Done the right foods and eating at the right times, etc. Had an endo earlier this year with colonoscopy - but they could not complete the endo due to cough and bleeding. They will test on 10/16 for Upper GI & Mobility test and I will see surgeon regarding surgery immediately. Is anyone willing to please e-mail me their post-op experience? Just need answers from someone who has been there. I've seen the whole surgery on-line. I have read everything on it. I still need to hear it from someone who has been there. I actually talk to people about the vocal cord implant - thanks to that I can speak. I have been given the name of a particular doctor in Medical City. I have been told to only go to him. I want my surgeon!! I don't like to surgeon hop! I hate new doctors more than anything. I was not expecting this, but if it is the last piece of the journey, I will take it. Any recommendations from personal experience? I would like feedback on what to expect upon post op care, pain, when can I carry a 4 month baby that I love more than anything again?
