Hi everyone,
My name is Jim from Arizona. I need some help from the group. I have been taking Aciphex for about 7 years for Gerd, I also have a thyroid condition and Scleraderma. The Gerd is associated with the Scleraderma. I normally take 2 - 20 MG Aciphex, 1 in the morning and 1 at supper time. I have insurance thru my wife, she used to have United Health care and now it was switched to Humana. Humana is denying to 2- 20 mg's a day and only allow me one pill a day which does not cut the pain in my gut and throat. My question to the group is, Does anyone know of an online study approved by an oranization like the FDA that approves 2- 20 MG Tabs of Aciphex to stop Gerd if 1 pill is not cutting it. Please send the website to my email address. Thanks for the help jamesguabello@yahoo.com |

My husband looked up all the clinical trials. It has never been studied in humans for longer than 10 days or for more than one pill a day. I would switch. My GI gave it to me twice a day for 5 weeks, no relief and incredible anxiety attacks that have kept me in and out of ERs and on anti-anxiety drugs. I am definitely switching to something else.

Approved Aciphex dose is no more than one 20mg pill per day. May be switching to another proton pump inhibitor (Nexium, Prevacid or Prilosec) will help to control your GERD better.
