Acid Reflux

About 8 years ago my father died of esopegeal cancer. I was having some stomach problems and decided to have an endoscope. The docotor put me on nexium once a day. I have been on it that long.
I started having some problems with my throat. I constantly feel like I need to cough or clear my throat. Like there is phelem there. I went to an ENT thinking I would get sinum medicane and he ordered another endoscope.(sp, sorry I don't know the medical terms, scope down the throat). He told me after that to take TWO nexium. Well, I have been taking the second, hit and miss, because I think that is so much medicane. It is getting worse, I feel like all I do at work is clear my throat. I went back to the ENT and he put me on Zantac!! Twice a day. He thinks it is LPR or LRP.. something like that. I just abuot flipped. 4 pills a day for my stomach. He told me to try it for a month and if I don't get better he will KNOW it isn't from my stomach. Ok, I decided to take it religiously and yesterday morning woke up with my check hurting so bad. Right down the middle. I'm starting to think maybe I went to a quack. I need some kind of guidance.
Also, I am so gassy. Everything I eat. My family can hardly stand to be around me,but I can't help it. I heard that was a side effect of Nexium, and now I am on two.
Somebody please help. I live in a small town with few doctors available.
