Acid Reflux

Ok, I'm just going to get into it..

The person in question is a 28 year old Female with 4 kids. Weighs around 100lbs and is around 5 feet tall. She has smoked for awhile, but usually 5 or less in a day. Recently (within the last week or two) the number of cigarettes has gone up to 11 a day or so. I have no information on prior problems or family history. She has had tubal ligation (tubes tied) to prevent another pregnancy.

That's all that I can think of that would apply to the situation...now the symptoms.

Around a month ago she was complaining about stabbing pains around her sides whenever she twisted her body to one side or whenever she leaned over..only in certain ways. Immediately I figured ovarian cysts, but it didn't seem anywhere near dangerous since the pain stopped shortly there-after (or at least that's what she's said). Yesterday she woke up and couldn't breath, saying it felt like she was drowning, and honestly it scared me. In addition, I asked if her neck fetl swollen and she replied with "Just a little." She says it didn't feel like anyone was trying to choke her (alot of swelling). Today, she woke up to a sharp stabbing pain identical to the pain she had a month or so ago, which I thought were ovarian cysts.

(Also, when she leans over to wash her hair in the bath, only sometimes, but recently she says it feels like water goes up her noes and freaks her out.)

Please if you have any idea on what the problem could be, if it's nothing or if it's severe and we should get treatment immediately, if you know someone suffering the same types of symptoms or anything, please tell me in as much detail as you can. Thank you.
